I disagree. He doesn't realize the full potential of his powers, he's still new at this. I thought the scene was done right even though it was inspired by Matrix Reloaded.

I have a potentially dumb theory regarding Harrison:

Spoiler:
Is there any chance that he's Barry from the future? He and Barry look similar and maybe he time traveled and lost his powers in the past?

I liked it a lot. Really surprised how fast this show seems to be moving, especially compared to how Arrow started somewhat slow. I also think it's pretty impressive how good this cast is. Yes Grant Gustin may not look like comic book Barry, but to me he is Barry. He just is incredibly believable in the role.

Love that he learning and that he is not perfect yet.

He was also having problems with running out of energy, which is logical for someone running at his speed.
-Cool that he has a weakness

Learning and growing as a Super Hero.

I doubt they would turn the hero and star of the show into a murderer.

Here is my theory on Harrison:

Spoiler:
Harrison is the Monitor from Crisis on Infinite Earths. Looks like he is Monitoring different "Time" in his special room. The news paper he was reading at the end of the Pilot talked about "Flash Missing Vanishes in Crisis" and "Red Skys Vanish"...April 25 2014

I'm really loving the show so far and I'm excited for the things hinted for the future.

I almost wonder, regarding Wells
Spoiler:
if they are going to have him take over the Thawne role from the comics and the TV show Thawne is a red herring for those that know the comic background.

Wow. I've been reading comic books for 30 years and had never heard of Multiplex!

Could you possibly make that pic any bigger?

Seriously, if a pic is so big that it requires horizontal scrolling, then it's too big. Trim the size down.

No one ever read Firestorm. I have no idea how he supported his own solo book for so many years.

I came across it on another site and just got it from there.

I think I know where they might be going with Wells, so I won't speculate here about who he is on the show.

So download the pic, resize it in MS Paint, then upload it to a free image host site. It takes 10 seconds to do that. It's considered polite posting etiquette not to post overly large pictures.

I always liked Firestorm. Anyone else remember the season he was on the Superfriends? And yeah, I knew Multiplex (I believe my exact words were "Captain Clone!? More like Multiplex!"), and Simon Stagg -- whose bodyguard, in the comics, is an actual unfrozen cave man named Java.

BTW, if the rumors are true, we'll be seeing more of Multiplex -- not on this show, but in the DC Cinematic Universe.
Spoiler:
Warner Brothers has announced a Suicide Squad movie for 2016, and it's rumored that he'll be a member of the Squad.

(For those unfamiliar, the concept behind the Suicide Squad is that a bunch of supervillains are fitted with explosive collars and sent off on missions for the government. Basically the Dirty Dozen with super powers. Multiplex is going to be one of the Squad members).

As for the show, I enjoyed this episode much more than the pilot (which wasn't terrible). This has officially passed Gotham as favorite new comic book show of 2014. I wish this wasn't saddled with CW Teen Angst -- I would have preferred a Barry who is about 8-10 years older than the one we're seeing, who seems to be 17 or so (notwithstanding the fact that he's got a job as a police scientist). But all in all, it works for me.

Yah, the CW factor is the only thing keeping me from buying into this show completely. That said, it's a lot of fun so far and once the inevitable Reverse Flash/time travel craziness starts I'm sure I'll be fully on the bandwagon. My love of the Flash pretty much demands it.

Ah! I didn't know that! Are there any other superhero characters that stem from the characters in this show?

In the comics:

Iris
Spoiler:
was a journalist and Barry's girlfriend. They eventually married. Her father was an absent-minded scientist.

Eddie Thawne
Spoiler:
In the comics, Eobard Thawne was a supervillain from the 24th century who had the same powers as the Flash and went by either Professor Zoom or the Reverse Flash. He figured in some pretty major stories.

Cisco Ramon
Spoiler:
Appears to be named after Fancisco Ramon, who was in the Justice League in the 80s as Vibe. Vibe was a stereotypical breakdancing Latino with vibration powers. Apart from the name and Latin heritage, he was nothing like Cisco, but maybe Cisco will wind up with powers down the road.

In the pilot, we also saw reporter Linda Park. Barry's nephew Wally West was the Flash from 1986 until about three or four years ago when Barry was dead (it's comics; don't ask) and Linda was Wally's girlfriend/wife. And we saw Detective Chyre, Joe West's partner who died in the pilot; Chyre was a cop in the comics and a pretty regular supporting cast member in the late 90s/2000s.

How can we get WB/DC to use Grant Gustin in the movies, NOT the actor the selected that looks NOTHING like the Flash...

Wally is Iris' nephew unless they changed that little detail.

They should do an homage ep. to the SA version where he visits Earth prime and visits the DC office.
