I thought that this episode was pretty funny. It was interesting seeing Homer trying to lay down the law with Bart for once and that sort of reminded me of one of the earlier episodes. I also thought the fantasy football jokes were sort of funny and liked Marge trying to put a stop to the trash talking. Also liked the bit at the end where the Sea Captain showed up and was disappointed that they had a sea based episode but didn't involve him.

Do they ever use the Sea Captain anymore? I was a bit sad when I realized one of the things I really liked about that Family Guy crossover was that it featured classic Apu. He's missing in action on the actual Simpsons. I've heard that Fox now considers Apu an offensive stereotype and told the writing staff to tone his character down.

The Sea Captain has always sort of been one of those characters who just pops up now and again for a line or two. He's never really had a big part on the show.

The only episodes he's been prominently featured was in Season 4's New Kid on the Block (where Homer sues him over the all-you-can-eat buffet) and Season 17's The Wettest Stories Ever Told, where they are once again at The Frying Dutchman restaurant and the service is terrible so they tell stories to pass the time.
