Help identify past favorites
I need to know that show name, if you can help....
I only saw about three episodes.
The TV show was aired in about 1983 or so.
Some boy (12 or so) loses his parents. I do not know how.
His "uncle" (or at the very least his male role model) is a womanizer. He has some kind of pocket watch that he uses to travel in time. He is charged with protecting, and correcting, history. He evidently is not educated in history, and has no idea what he is doing. His is often distracted by the women. He never seems to get laid thanks to his nephew.
The boy is an expert at sports, and history. The boys brains and the protagonists brawns save the day.
When our heroes use the pocket watch they fall out of the sky but always land someplace soft.
The protanganist has a British name like "Bogg".
No specific antagonist appears to exist.
The show was more sci than fi. It was very entertaining for me, at the time.
Ok TV fans. What was the show name please.

It was definitely Voyagers. Loved that show as well. Jon Erik Hexum was the 'uncle' on the show. He's the one that died when he was playing around with a gun loaded with blanks and shot himself point blank in the side of the head a couple years after the show ended.

Voyagers, like others have said. Jon-Erik Hexum's character was Phineas Bogg. The kid was Jeffrey Jones, played by Meeno Peluce (brother of Soleil Moon-Frye). Available on DVD:
