Re: Selfie (ABC) - Series Thread

I wanted to hate this show, but I'm actually enjoying it because of the leads. The receptionist and to a lesser extent the boss are the main side characters they're fleshing out. The ratings are still bad, and dropped further with the double episode that replaced Manhattan Love Story (sigh). Taking a week off probably hurt what little audience it had.

Also enjoying the show, but the fact that they double dipped on election night when not a lot of other new shows were running makes me think they're trying to dump it already.

They double-dipped because ABC canned the show that would have been in the other slot.

I've watched a few more episodes, and it definitely got better after the pilot.

Anyone else notice that the two episodes this week aired out of order? In the first episode, the son-in-law was working in customer service. In the second episode, he got promoted to customer service.

Hahah, I said the same thing to my wife.

Really enjoying this show. To bad it has little chance of a second season. Karen Gillan is smoking hot.

Disappointing. Watched the last few eps and it seemed to be jelling. And Karen is fucking adorable.

Gillan and Cho have great chemistry.

The show actually became amusing over the past month.

Of course, the wife loved it. She's not going to be too happy about the cancellation.

The receptionist was becoming one of my favorite characters. That actress had good friend chemistry with Karen.

The show was improving a bit. I'm now sad about the cancellation. I think this show and Manhattan Love Story could have worked better on a basic cable network.

Karen will stick around in America and will probably try to make it again on an American show. I think she will end up on a one hour drama on cable later on.

13.

7 aired, 6 Unaired.

Sad a show like this gets canned when crap like Cristela lives on. Vomit.

Didn't like the show but Karen Gillan is hot and taller than I thought. Don't see much of 'her' in GOTG with all that CG makeup but I enjoyed her in Oculus.

I thought that show would have been canned right away. The series premiere previews looked awful and I watched the first two episodes online and it wasn't great. I agree, Selfie was better than Cristela. I hope Cristela doesn't get a second season renewal.

Re: Selfie (ABC) - Series Thread

They say you can't judge a book by a cover, but can you judge a TV show by the title?

This show could have been loved by all the critics and all my friends and I would still refuse to watch the show, simply based on the title.

Yes, the title is horrible and I wanted to boycott it because of that, but I liked it once I gave it a chance. Would its fate have been different with a different title? Probably not since similar comedies A to Z and Manhattan Love Story also failed.

If she does I hope she keeps her native accent. Her American is atrocious.
