Same as last week: loved it. Perfect casting for Selina Kyle.

Because she already looks like a cat?

Again, Jada Pinkett Smith was aces.

With adjusted expectations I can say I enjoyed this episode. I don't see this becoming a great show, but it is a fun show, and I'm cool with that. I just realized that Smith is doing a take on Eartha Kitt which is cool. I really liked the scene between here and Falcone.

The brightest spot continues to be the Penguin. I really like how they're rolling that out.

I still wish this show was better, but I'm coming around on what it actually is.

How Penguin is becoming is very interesting to watch. A really good actor, but kind of hard to see him as the idea of Penguin is short and fat. The only bad thing is that with so many characters, it's hard to give time to everyone. I do have a question, for those that are really into the comics. Who were the people that kidnapped the kids? Are they from the comics or just written into the show like Smith's character?

Meh. I never liked her, so I don't really care for her in this. This isn't a great show in terms of acting, but it's entertaining.

So they are really drawing deep in Batman lore. The Dollmaker, huh?

Next week it looks like we get
Spoiler:
Professor Pyg.

Not that deep considering Dollmaker was created in the New 52.
Spoiler:
Dollmaker cut off Joker's face in an utterly idiotic New 52 storyarc.

Spoiler:
Yeah, I noticed the guy in the pig mask and thought that was Professor Pyg. Pyg was created by Grant Morrison during his run, and he is one of the few characters that Morrison created that I actually liked.

I thought this was surprisingly bad. The only thing I liked was Smith performance. The show was disjointed. One moment Gordon is in the warehouse and the next he is talking to Bruce. Why was he talking to Bruce in the first place? Going back to the penguin multiple times was jarring. The scene with his mother was pointless.

The episode felt unfinished so maybe I might feel better about it after the next episode comes out.

I thought the episode was ok, nothing particularly amazing though. I'm not liking Smith at all, and it seems like her accent comes and goes; the mention of Eartha Kitt above makes some more sense to me now though. I didn't care for the kidnappers, they came off as far too cheesy for this show.

Selina was pretty good, although having her tell people to call her Cat was another one of those moments to beat the audience over the head on who she becomes that is unnecessary. I'm liking the Penguin stuff too, and along with his scenes and Selina clawing a guy's eyes out the show is surprisingly brutal.

As I mentioned for the pilot, I don't like the time spent on Bruce.

As long as Bruce and Alfred continue to hate each other, it should be fun to watch!

I didn't have high expectations for this and the pilot surprised me for that. But man, this episode... what a stinker.

Didn't care for Alfred essentially shaking the baby with his treatment of Baby Bruce.

I'm enjoying the show. It's not the best thing on TV, but it's certainly not bad.

I thought the girl playing Catwoman had some very Michelle Pfeiffer-ish looks going on, especially the eyes, and that's cool with me.

The funniest thing though is that some work-friends of mine said they only watched the first episode and aren't going to watch it anymore, and the only reason they gave was because they don't think the actress playing Barbara is doing a good job. Whether she's doing a good job or not, she's a pretty small part of the show to stop watching it over, don't you think?

I meant deep as in they aren't using mainstream villains that many people would know. Not deep time-wise.

No, this Alfred has little resemblance to the comics Alfred.

interesting I thought it was quite a bit better than the pilot...felt less comic like and almost ultra violent...I was on the fence after the pilot but will watch now
