Re: Chicago Fire -- Wednesdays (NBC)

Really enjoyed Wednesday nights episode. This and Hannibal IMO are the best new dramas on NBC.

Sucks what happened to Matt's girlfriend Hallie especially since they just got back together. Once they showed the bald headed guy casually walk into the clinic, I knew something was up. Looks like Matt is going to turn to that dirty cop for help. The fire scenes are so well choreographed.

My only complaint was the Severide case being wrapped up so nice and tidy. It was interesting seeing Brooke Nevin play a sociopath as opposed to the sweet and shy Jules on Breakout Kings.

Re: Chicago Fire -- Wednesdays (NBC)

I don't think she was a sociopath. I think she was an opportunist. And her schemes finally caught up to her because someone who knew he hadn't sexually harassed her actually found a way to beat her at her own game.

How did that dirty cop end up getting a promotion? Shouldn't his time in jail have ended his career or at least hurt his chances for a promotion?

This interview with Jason Beghe who plays Voight kind of explains it. It also has something to with collecting on a favor from Dawson for helping her and Antonio.

When you have to explain in an interview, what they don't bother to explain on TV.........

Re: Chicago Fire -- Wednesdays (NBC)

"CHICAGO FIRE"

"LET HER GO"

05/15/2013 (10:00PM - 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : CASEY LEARNS THAT OLD HABITS DIE HARD WHEN HE IS LEFT TO DEAL WITH VOIGHT - Events force Lieutenant Casey (Jesse Spencer) to team up with the Intelligence Unit, now run by Voight (guest star Jason Beghe), who doesn't appear to have changed his crooked ways after his stint in prison. Shay's (Lauren German) excitement at the prospect of becoming a parent grows, while Mills (Charlie Barnett) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) face some personal challenges. Meanwhile, the house comes together to support the opening of Molly's. Taylor Kinney, David Eigenberg and Eamonn Walker also star.

Tonight is episode 23 of 24

This will return for a 2nd season in the Fall. Also, the spinoff "Chicago PD" was greenlit by NBC and will air midseason. Jason Beghe and Jon Seda who have been recurring on this show are the leads.

Should be interesting how they wrap things up with Voight.

Re: Chicago Fire -- Wednesdays (NBC)

Kinda sucked that this episode was nothing more than the backdoor pilot. I guess that's why there is 24 episodes.

Even though i like the characters and the universe they inhabit i don't think I'll watch Chicago PD, i just can't take another cop procedural.

I have no interest in yet another cop show, and I hated that NBC crammed one down our throats in episode 23.

It's from the same creative time. I doubt they will make Chicago PD a straight forward cop procedural. It's going to take a few episodes, but like Chicago Fire I think it could develop into a character-driven drama with some arcs like Fire had. Also, there is always the potential for some crossover episodes.

True. I don't like the guy playing Voight though, so I'd have a hard time sticking with it. His gravelly voice irritates me.

Re: Chicago Fire -- Wednesdays (NBC)

I enjoyed the Pilot episode for Chicago PD in this Fire episode.

So, Voight wasn't actually dirty after all with that big reveal at the end. Looks like he's working some more deep cover assignment or something.

The guy who murdered Hallie looked like he was going to say something before Voight blew his brains out. I'm thinking he did that to shut him up so his deep cover wouldn't be blown.

With Peter breaking up with Dawson, they have totally set up Casey and her possibly hooking up next season.

The storyline that isn't working for me though is Severide and Shay and the baby. It totally brings the episodes down everytime it's mentioned.

Re: Chicago Fire -- Wednesdays (NBC)

Episode 24, the season finale is tonight.

Re: Chicago Fire -- Wednesdays (NBC)

The finale was decent, although I think they devoted a little too much time to Hermann and his baby. I'd also like to see less of Boden because I don't like the way the actor plays the part. He always looks angry. I felt bad for Shay but not Mills.

Re: Chicago Fire -- Wednesdays (NBC)

am I the only person that thinks "if they're dumb enough to start a fire in their closed off cell just let them deal with it themselves"?
I mean it's an entirely concrete building including the interior walls. Not like the fire is going to spread and take out the whole prison. sure the smoke might spread through the vents but that's why they should have louvers to close off incoming vents and have exhaust vents the inmates can't close

and no keys to override the electronic doors?

Chicago Fire -- Season Premiere -- "A Problem House" -- 9/24/13

Synopsis:

Evidence recovered at a series of fires indicates that Lt. Severide (Taylor Kinney) is being targeted by an arsonist. Meanwhile, Battalion Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) clashes with Gail McLeod (guest star Michelle Forbes), a high ranking consultant with the State Marshal's office who keeps a sharp eye on budgets and performance at the city's firehouses -- and has 51 under her microscope as one that could face the prospect of being closed. Elsewhere, Lt. Casey (Jesse Spencer) reflects on the year anniversary of Andy's death, Shay (Lauren German) has suspicions about Severide's paternity and Mouch (Christian Stolte) enjoys a visit from Mari (guest star Cindy Chang), his Japanese girlfriend. Monica Raymund, Charlie Barnett, David Eigenberg, Yuri Sardarov and Joe Minoso also star. Jon Seda, and Jesse Lee Soffer also guest star.

Was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable season 1 was.

FYI, Sarah Shahi also recurs on this show, however now that she's on Person of Interest, she will appear in only 1 episode this season.

Re: Chicago Fire -- Season Premiere -- "A Problem House" -- 9/24/13

Loved it

Awesome start to the new season

Some interesting new plot developments:

Budget cuts for the fire house, a secret spy and now Severide being terrorized by a serial arsonist. Great stuff.

at the videos and photos of Joe hanging at the competitor bar.

Really interesting seeing Jeff Hephner here. He was on Boss for it's 2 seasons. He's now in another Chicago-based show. The character seemed suspicious to me. He was too casual with the bombs.

In the wake of Heather's (guest star Chaon Cross) incident, Lt. Casey (Jesse Spencer) is having a hard time handling his newfound responsibilities. Lt. Episode 2 of 22

I think this is a first for network TV. Sarah Shahi will be appearing on 2 shows on 2 different networks, playing 2 different people, on the same night in the same timeslot.

Well, this episode pretty much wrapped up Shahi's arc on this show. Now that the kid isn't Severide's, there is no reason for her to come back here.

Plus, she has another job already.

Episode was good overall.

Re: Chicago Fire (NBC) -- Season 2 Thread

could the rat and ensign ro make themselves any more obvious?
she should be sitting on stuff for a while not immediately letting the chief know
then the rat gets all shifty and mouthy when the one guy tells everyone they have a rat
