Loved the show, one of the best premiers I have ever watched.

Who says Catwoman could not have seen the Wayne's murders, I never remember the comics showing who was in the shadows up high.

This could have been a movie in the theater, which a few changes.

One character on this show was created for the Animated series and has it appeared on screen otherwise, I think.

I thought this one was a little dull, story-wise. I'll check it out next week, but I was disappointed with the pilot. Other than the backstory (future story that is) the plot seemed like a standard crime procedural. I am not a huge superhero fangirl though so I think I am just looking at it from the plot.

Is everyone forgetting what Tim Burton did to Batman's origin 25 years ago? I'd say his change was far bigger than what they did here.

This is about the only new show I've been looking forward to this season. Most everything else looks like crap. So far, so good.

Nearly a perfect premier. Call it the Anti S.H.I.E.L.D.. Great cast, solid characters, amazing production values, solid story, great score, etc. Pretty much everything I wanted out of S.H.I.E.L.D. that they failed to deliver on.

My only two nitpicks were the title sequence (hopefully simplified for the pilot) which sometimes changes by Ep. 2. The other is the same complaint everyone else has mentioned, which is overkill on all the villains in a single episode.

Re-imagining would be his parents living and Bruce deciding to become the Bat for another reason.

Speaking of, I never made the connection that Bruce and Clark Kent's mothers share the same name.

Perfect comparison. The actor playing Gordon kept reminding me of Russel Crowe in LA Confidential. Lots of looks and little mannerisms.

Totally unrelated to anything, Catwoman stole a brand new quart of milk but when she opened it to pour some out for her kitties there was barely anything left in it.

I thought having Bruce's parents be killed by the Man Who Would Become The Joker was a needless coincidence that thoroughly cheapens both characters.

I just assumed she drank some of it.

Speaking of animated, I thought the actresses who played Selina & Barbara looked like live-action Bratz dolls! And man, Falcone will probably be about 85 years old when/if he meets Batman.

I wasn't as blown away by this pilot as others, but I'll regularly tune into this.

Poussey PayPal commercial was a big highlight of the night!

Interesting but not a good episode for me. Still have high hopes for the show though.

They really didn't have to go through all those wink wink, nudge nudge cameo/name drops of future Batman folks.

Re: Gotham (S1E1) - Series Premiere - "Pilot" - 9/22/2014

It was good, not great. I would give it a solid B or B+

McKenzie IMO is a very underrated actor. I liked him as Gordon. I also really enjoyed Logue as Harvey. It was a good setup for a series that has potential. It had a very crime noirish thriller feel to it.

I'm glad that Bruno Heller left the Mentalist, which is in it's last season and was a sinking ship creatively, to focus on this fulltime. He's a really talented writer from his days on Rome. I'm glad he didn't make this into a Gotham city weekly cop procedural.

Yeah I also noticed all the winks to future Gotham villians. They did fill the kitchen sink with a lot of villains in 42 minutes.

Question, Is Barbara Gordon (unborn Batgirl), the daughter of Barbara Kean? I haven't read the comics, so a lot of my Batman knowledge is from the original movies and the Nolan trilogy.

I hope this does well tomorrow, but it's got a tough timeslot.

It's not just Gotham. Most shows even after the Pilot episode are just doing simple title cards as opposed to a full opening credit sequence. It allows them to add slightly more content into the show. I think that title card is going to be a permanent fixture.

I'm surprised some of you haven't recognized Ben McKenzie from his previous works. This is a potential huge starring role for him. I'm glad he's getting some love now.

As Ryan Atwood from the OC

As Officer Ben Sherman from Southland

McKenzie played Batman himself in Batman: Year One. Nobody ever seems to mention that in any of the stuff I've read online about Gotham.

Is this the best the traditional networks can come up with these days? ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX are starting to mimic the movie industry, as there is nothing original anymore.

The mute kid from Touch plays the young Bruce Wayne.

The acting is kind of bad and cheesy though and not the creme of the crop.

Basically. It's Monday which means Gotham, Sleepy Hollow and the silly Under The Dome.

I'm ok with Bullock, but I definitely didn't care for the actress playing Montoya. She felt a little too slight for me, whereas I think of Montoya as having a lot of grit and presence.

I'm middle of the road on the show so far. I didn't really like it, but I didn't hate it either. It's just kinda there. If this wasn't connected to Batman, I wouldn't watch it further, but since I'm a dork for Bat-stuff I'm going to stick around for a bit and see what this show can grow into.

No, it's also one show. There's this and SHIELD. There's plenty of other programming too, though the best does mimic and one ups the movie industry (Hannibal).

This was just OK to me. I really liked the look of the show. The cast, for the most part, was pretty great. I like McKenzie... but I don't really like him for this. I can see myself potentially getting bored with this. I'll give it some more time to develop though.

The production values were great but the script was pretty meh. I won't be back for round 2.

Looked gorgeous. I thought the performances were really good, in particular the kid playing Bruce Wayne. I'm in for awhile...

I'd go as far as the Killing Joke version but nothing more. I don't want to ever know.
