To answer the OP: because the good guys are making single-camera comedy shows (or whatever they call them).

There's also an upset with reality TV. Lots of families watching that stuff.

All the supposed talent in L.A. and they continue to come up with nothing, I did read where nbc was having a contest to find fresh talent outside of L.A. or N.Y., maybe they can find something.
