Sorry but it is the truth!! People get ridiculed for getting on gays, and the funny part is gays make up about 2% of the population!

Wow, this thread is fantastic. It's like watching the bar drunk spout off whatever junk comes to his thoughts, with the rest of the patrons playing off of his nonsense.
Good times.
Good times.

If you're on a gay, you might be gay yourself.
What difference does it make what percentage of the population they are?

It makes a big deal, we give them too much respect!! When they are such a small percent, that's why they try and recruit people like your self and young children in believing that its ok to be gay!! Its just not!!

Why is it that when I click to view our coolest new member's profile (mostly to find other insightful posts), I get: This user has not registered and therefore does not have a profile to view.
In other words, Why is there not anymore profile to view?
I sense a conspiracy!

Wait a minute ... Are you the guy who came to our village board meeting and informed us that the residents in our town are afraid to exercise their Second Amendment right to come speak before the board?

What started out as a semi interesting discussion has devolved into utter nonsense. Good Lord man.

Too bad we didn't have nonsensical internet threads in my day so I could say that nonsensical internet threads like this were "better in my day." The closest thing we had was drunken, rambling conversations on the street corner on late summer nights. And no, we didn't record them on our battery-operated cassette tape recorders. No one thought to do that. Which is probably best for all of us.

Sometimes speaking the truth hurts and bothers people, that's the problem with America, a lot of people feel the same way I do, but they are afraid to speak there opinion. All because of money and power!!they realize it's not 1952 anymore and those views are woefully outdated.

Sounds like my father. Hey, I just discovered I'm questioning my political views as told to me by my parents and need direction in my life! Sweet! Teenage rebellion! It's like I'm 15! I'm only a decade plus late!
Anyway, as to the question, it seems that the sitcom world is currently reigned by Chuck Lorre. While I like TBBT, his rather lowbrow style seems to be pretty much the norm for sitcoms now. Eventually, in spite of giving it a shot, I found the irritating vulgarity on Two Broke Girls so unfunny that I simply stopped bothering with it after a few episodes. While I was never into Seinfeld or Friends, they were the sitcoms of the era. In the 2000s, I actually got into Boy Meets World reruns, of all things. Some of the lessons were a little sanctimonious, but the mild surrealism of the humor clicked with me.

Aside from the tangent this thread took, isn't the answer obvious? Network executives aren't gonna pay writers and actors on the off-chance they'll get a hit, when they can just turn a camera on some rednecks or some rich people (or rich rednecks) and garner blockbuster ratings.

Sure but networks don't just air reality shows, there is still original programming. There's nothing stopping them from putting a sitcom on the schedule somewhere.

I'd assume sitcoms, at least to start with, would be inexpensive to produce. Most of the big ones seem to have spent most of their money on increasingly in-demand stars wanting raises.

I think people are looking for new sitcom, a taxi, cheers or even wings were great shows. Must be because they were centralized location and dealt with every day situations.
