Episode 6 aired on Wednesday night. Forgot to do a thread.

Since interest in this show is kind of lukewarm at best, I'm just going to go ahead and make this the thread for the remainder of the season.

I have been watching this since day 1. Not sure why the conversation here is so dead.

While I don't watch network dramas anymore (I just think the writing and complexity of the characters is so much better on cable), I've been enjoying this. I don't know if I'd say I'm on pins and needles every week, but the show keeps me engaged and I'm curious to see what's going to happen with Molly. I think this is definitely the best I've seen of Halle since "Losing Isaiah" in the 90s.

I think they might be burning off two episodes this week. There is a good chance Extant gets renewed unless the ratings crater in its final weeks.

TVRage - Extant Episode Listing shows:
Code:
1x07 - 20/Aug/2014 - More in Heaven and Earth
1x08 - 27/Aug/2014 - Incursion
But my DVR is showing #1x07 at 9PM ET and #1x08 at 10PM ET.

Thanks for the heads-up.

TitanTV and my Tivo show another doubleheader on Aug 27. Not sure whether that will continue or they are just trying to finish before premiere week. The scheduled doubleheaders leave three episodes in Sep.

Things are picking up on the alien baby front (wonder how it got out of the growth chamber). I could probably use less of the robot-boy plot (especially throwing some Luddite-sorts into the mix). I expected him to kill the kids who took his bike ... Anyone else think the alien energy form is accelerating his evolution as well?

I had my DVR set to tape 2 episodes last week but instead they have one episode listed for 2 hrs from 9-11pm and it does not record.

I don't get this: when Halle goes to that site where the baby is being held, the bad guys (including that NASA director guy) go to great lengths to try to trap and catch her. Like, they have a team of armed men trying to catch and/or kill her. But she escapes and... just goes home? And then goes to work the next day? This makes no sense to me.

I'm out. Don't care. Halle Berry is tremendously annoying in this. Life's too short.

Im still in, mainly because the view of future technology is one of the better ones I have seen but this show did not need the sill action in these two episodes.

This series does not know what it wants to be, either as sci-fi horror or a more contemplative view of future society. I have a feeling if they could tweak a few elements from the beginning, this could have been a great show.

This past Wednesday's episode (Episode 7) will be posted on Sunday. 6 episodes are on Prime right now.

I would be good with just the future society side of things because the allien part is still gaining on Under The Dome in pure sillyness.

If you are still watching, a pad will be needed tonight for Eastern/Central at least. Obama is speaking is at 9PM EDT. Not sure how long either the speech or the following talking heads babble will last.

At the end of the episode, I noticed they said the "Season Finale" was coming up. Does that mean this has been renewed for another season?

Re: Extant (CBS) -- Remainder of Season 1 Thread -- Wednesdays

I thought they were setting it up for robot boy to kill alien boy, since robot boy is the only one that can't be controlled by alien boy. Instead, it looks like alien boy is going to be good, and robot boy was completely useless to the plot

I never thought that because it seems that would be impossible. The alien probably can only be harmed by other similar aliens given the powers they have given him.

Seems to me like the robot plot is there to give emphasis to the idea that she had to make compromises after losing people. Husband that she doesn;t seem to feel much for, and a robot for a child.

I'm sure the alien is going to cause trouble next season, if there is one.

Re: Extant (CBS) -- Remainder of Season 1 Thread -- Wednesdays

Yes, the alien "boy" woudl clearly be the focus of any next season. Has it come out if this show was renewed or cancelled?

I also think there is a lot they could do with the Ethan character whether they put him back in a body or just let him continue to exist everywhere.
