Aren't they simulcasting all over the world this year? So if it airs at 9pm in EST it should air at 6pm in PST.

Not sure. I tried going to their site but it never loaded.

I'm pretty sure I read that they are, but since I'm all ready on the east coast I didn't pay too much attention.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 5: Casting, News, Production

I am curious if

Spoiler:
they will make Mance's death for real on the show. The problem is that in the book it is always possible that Ramsey Bolton is just talking shit. However, since the Iron Islands plot will be dropped and there will most likely be no Asha/Yara going to the North, he may not serve a purpose. I am kind of disappointed we won't be seeing Vicatarion Greyjoy, and most likely J'Qhorro. However, I doubt we will be getting Penny , which is a good thing.

Beware of spoilers. The first four episodes have leaked.

Spoilers are the worst. I could easily get those episodes if I wanted to avoid the spoilers but to what end? Plow through them today just to wait a month for episode 5? Not worth it.

This is an interesting video on the rest of their world outside of Westeros

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3rZIBmv_bb4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

(It's surprising just how big Essos is. It makes Westeros seem tiny in comparison.)

It's cool to go back and watch that cast video in the first post now that I know who the characters are.

Yeah, I didn't realize from the show how far away Mereen is. Whenever she gets around to going back to Westeros, is she going to march an army down to the Western shore of Essos, or sail around Valeria and Dorne?

She'd almost have to sail there or risk attack from the free cities.

After Drogo's death, Daenerys started in the far city of Qarth and has been slowing working her way West (at this rate, she'll be in Westeros a few decades from now.)

Just like Europe (Westeros) compared to Asia (Essos).

Ian Mcshane cast for a small but important role next season. Sweet.

I could see that. My first impulse was Howland Reed, if that character doesn't end up being someone we've already met.

Well, they're off-book, so it could be anyone we haven't met yet - maybe it'll be the voice of a dragon - you don't know! Maybe the dragons can talk - we're off-book!!!

Tarly is a good call but he would also make a good Euron Greyjoy.
