Was it ever mentioned that DC's Legends of Tomorrow was officially canceled by the CW? This happened back in April. Lasted seven winding seasons, ending with an almost entirely different cast than what it started out with back in season one.

Yes I brought it up in the season thread.

United States of Al canceled by CBS: https://tvline.com/2022/05/11/united...-season-3-cbs/

Things should be pretty busy in the next 2 days for this thread as the networks announce their cancelations ahead of the upfronts next week.

Canceled:

All American: Homecoming (CW)

When DVD Talk doesn't watch it, it's as good as dead. ;)

I've been watching Endgame, but not surprised it got cancelled. Nobody talks about it.

and I think most of the comments I saw just ridiculed Morena's fake accent.

Mr Mayor is a tough one.

B Positive not so much. They lost me when they had the girl win the lottery.

Damn, enjoyed Mr. Mayor. But also enjoy Young Rock, so that's nice.

Charmed cancelled by The CW

Not going to even bother bumping the Charmed thread as nobody here watched it.

https://tvline.com/2022/05/12/naomi-...d-season-2-cw/

Naomi was also cancelled

Dynasty also cancelled

This was barely surviving due to it's Netflix deal. Nobody watches this show.

I hope Liz Gillies gets work outside of this. She's a really talented actress.

4400 and Roswell, New Mexico also cancelled by The CW

Actually, one of the (unseen? can't remember) residents of the nursing home left her millions in his will, but essentially she won the lottery.

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Renewal and Cancellation News

I think one of the main reasons for the CW cleaning house of the anemic low rated shows is because of the pending sale to Nexstar. Also, the Discovery merger probably had a little to do with it as well.

and losing the Netflix deal probably hurt a lot of these shows.

I wonder if that Gotham Knights show isn't going to go forward either. I think The CW as we've known it is basically done.

Magnum PI cancelled

Damn, I like this show. It's fun and escapism entertainment. And I loved seeing Hawaii every week.

In the Dark also cancelled. The 4th season will be the last one.

Also canceled:
In the Dark (CW)
Magnum P.I., Good Sam, How We Roll (CBS)

Does CW have any shows left?

DJariya 05-12-22 02:09 PM

Re: The One and Only TV FAQ Thread Plus Renewal and Cancellation News

I read the reason why Magnum was cancelled. It was purely financial reasons with Universal. They refused to lower the license fee.

Good Sam with Sophia Bush and Jason Isaacs also got cancelled. I didn't even bother bringing up this show here as I know this forum mostly loathes medical shows.

I don't think anyone talks about any of those renewed shows here, except maybe Young Rock? I didn't even realize Mr. Mayor or Kenan came back. I think before the advent of streaming I didn't realize how effective TV advertising was, now that I hardly watch the advertising I have no idea when stuff premieres or is shown unless I actively seek it out, and if it doesn't stream almost immediately after airing on a service I subscribe to, I just forget about it.

I think the vast majority of people, especially here, simply don't keep up with most shows on a nightly, let alone weekly basis. Unless you pay close attention to entertainment trades.

Unless it's a major IP with lots of spoilers like DC, Marvel, or Star Wars, I think we're just going to continue to see people casually watch things weeks, months later on their own time. The days of intense TV discussion on boards are long dead.

There's so many shows here that barely get any talk. I just think most here simply are too lazy or don't care enough anymore.

And the vast majority have moved on from broadcast network TV.

Yup, and I noticed that the majority of new scripted content coming out this summer is from streaming.

Network TV doesn't generate much interest anymore for most it seems.

Premiering new "high concept" network TV shows after marquee events like The Super Bowl or other sporting events doesn't mean shit anymore.

CW cancels Legacies

https://tvline.com/2022/05/12/legaci...iaries-ending/

I kind of lost interest in Legacies when the lead star Matt Davis turned out to be a nasty Trump supporting douche.
