The Leftovers (S1E04) - "B.J. and the A.C." - 7/20/14

A holiday display goes wanting, sending Kevin scurrying to find out who is responsible. Tom and Christine run into trouble at a hospital and on the road. Kevin retrieves a surprise detainee from a neighboring police station, and receives unexpected visitors at home. The Guilty Remnant put its stamp on the holiday season.

The pastor seems to be the only character worth caring about. Oh, and dog killer guy, if he shows back up.

Did you notice when the police chief's daughter asked why the mom was at the house, he answered, "It's complicated." I think Lindelof is just trolling us now.

Because last night, if you opened your windows and listened very closely... you could hear the sounds of thousands of viewers tapping out with this show.

What was the deal with all those bodies in white on the highway...am I just not paying attention (quite possible) or hasn't it been explained yet?
This show would be a lot better if the Guilty Remnant wasn't involved. They might be the first cult in history based upon the fact that a human being is worthless and of no value. Seriously, if that's the gist of your cult, who would join? If my life is meaningless and your cult promotes that life is meaningless, what's the point of joining your organization?

Okay, I must really not be paying attention. They've been CREATING dead human bodies? That made no sense to me. And what dream was she talking about?

A company made realistic looking human dolls that can be custom made to look like a loved one people have lost during the "rapture". It's a product that offers people a sense of closure since they have a body to bury now.

Oh wow, okay... I thought those were actual dead bodies, lol. Makes sense with the whole baby Jesus doll plot line.

I did read the book, and I remember the Asian chick striking up a friendship with an army guy on the bus - but to be honest, I don't remember reading about a truck of human-like dolls falling off a truck. Either it wasn't in the book or I just forgot. In my defense I've read about 200 books since that book, so some details get forgotten.

For some reason I keep watching this show, even though there's really nothing I like about it. I did somehow like this episode more than last weeks, which I thought was awful. Go figure.

I deleted it from DVR lineup. I'm out. If I hear it gets any better and renewed, maybe I'll revisit.
