Is there such a thing? When you talk about shows like Twin Peaks or Dallas, opinions can be split, but I'm wondering if there are shows that pop culture is in near 100% agreement on.

The one with the best shot that comes to mind is Fawlty Towers. I've never met anyone who said they didn't like it. I've never seen a reappraisal complaining the show was too broad or relied too much on stereo-types or maybe knocking it cause the sets looked cheap ect. I'm sure there were some crap reviews when it originally aired, but I can't think of any other show history has been kinder to.

Downtown Abby seems to get nothing but praise. Have never watched it myself, but everybody I know says I should start.

The Wire. Most absolutely love it but even those that don't love it still admit that it's a good show but maybe not their thing.

Breaking Bad is universally praised, but I wouldn't say universally loved.

I know many people that can't stand MASH. Often because of the heavy handedness of some episodes. And others because Alda came off as such a prick sometimes. Often the same episodes

I don't know if there's a legitimate answer to this question. Isn't it all subjective? Even Seinfeld has its detractors.

I would define it as 'most' fans of the same genre love the show

Not really fair for example to say that people who hate all sci fi shows don't like Star Trek

But if most sci fi fans hate for example Defiance, that's more valid

I would say Friends was universally loved by all who liked relationship based sitcoms

I'd say Friends is not universally loved, even though I love it and it was wildly popular.

The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. It was an American institution for decades and virtually everyone in entertainment reveres it even to this day.

If anyone's ever criticized The Golden Girls, I've never heard it. You could go into gang territory and ask around, and everyone would probably drop their guns and start talking about their favorite episodes.

I'm not sure ANY show fits this bill. I've never heard much hate for the original The Twilight Zone, but I suppose if you hate sci-fi, you'd have no interest.

How about The Andy Griffith Show? I rank it up there with Cheers as one of the few nearly perfect, timeless shows ever made.
