Thought they overdid it with the Angel character, but otherwise it was a very solid mini-series. It did strike me as odd that the character of Hap is supposed to be able to handle himself pretty well, based on character bio I read, but was a total pussy during the whole series. I only gave this a chance because I liked the actor so much in The Following.

Yeah Angel coming back to toss Hap and Leonard around like rag dolls after being laid out on the ground and near death was not very believable. But overall this series was very good. Hope it returns for a 2nd season.

Loved it. Loved all of it. Soldier and Angel was the best bad guy pairing I've seen in a long time.

Just finished it. Very well done. I think the star of this wasn't either Williams or Purefoy, but Simpson. Holy shit he was awesome as Soldier.
I hope this comes back. Very cool show. Sundance isn't promoting it as a limited series, so hopefully it does get the numbers they want and they bring it back.

Finished this up today, really enjoyed it. The chemistry between Purefoy and Williams was on point. Pumped to see it renewed, can't wait for season 2.

SUNDANCETV DEBUTS A NEW SEASON OF ORIGINAL SERIES "HAP AND LEONARD: MUCHO MOJO" WEDNESDAY, MARCH 15 AT 10:00PM ET/9PM CT
SundanceTV will debut an all new season of the network's highest rated original series, "Hap and Leonard: Mucho Mojo" on Wednesday, March 15 at 10:00 p.m. ET/9C, starring Michael Kenneth Williams ("The Night Of," "The Wire") and James Purefoy ("The Following," "Rome"). Inspired by the second book in the famed series by Joe R. Lansdale, "Hap and Leonard" follows two lifelong best friends -- Hap Collins (Purefoy) and Leonard Pine (Williams) - as they find themselves in mucho-trouble, caught in the middle of a murder mystery with more twists and turns than an East Texas highway. Set in the late 1980s, the story begins with a skeleton, Trudy's missing ashes, a literal pissing match with a neighborhood drug dealer, and a piece of MeMaw's famous pie.
In the premiere episode, "Mucho Mojo," written and directed by Jim Mickle, Hap and Leonard make an ominous discovery under Uncle Chester's floor.
Rounding out the cast in this six-episode anthology series are Brian Dennehy ("Death of a Salesman," "First Blood") Irma P. Hall ("A Family Thing," "Soul Food"), Dohn Norwood ("All the Way," "Hell on Wheels"), Tiffany Mack (Wicked Love, "iZombie") and Cranston Johnson ("Atlanta," Find a Way).
John Wirth ("Hell on Wheels," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") is showrunner and executive producer for the second season, and Jim Mickle, Nick Damici, Jeremy Platt, Linda Moran, and Nick Shumaker return as executive producers, along with co-executive producers Joe R. Lansdale and Lowell Northrop.

Glad they're continuing to remain fairly loyal to the Lansdale books (which are great, btw). I'm finally getting caught up on season 1 - glad this is coming back. 6 episode installments feels about right for this show and the material.

A word of warning for others, my DVR doesn't seem to want to setup a recording for this based on the series title alone. Not sure if it's because the new episodes are setup as repeats, or some other strange setting issue, but I might have to set this to manually record using the guide.

Strange. I do know that it changed in the guide from Hap & Leonard to Hap & Leonard: Mucho Mojo.

Yes, check your DVRs.
With the title change from "Hap & Leonard" to "Hap & Leonard: Mucho Mojo," it seems that DVRs are treating it like a different series.

Thanks for the headsup about the series name change.
I recently recorded a marathon of season 1 (missed the last 3 episodes) and used that to set the season pass. Glad I saw the update in time to re-set it with the name change.

Is this available in HD for anybody else? Between last season and this one it seems I lost getting the Sundance Channel in HD. Even the On Demand option was SD only. At least I thought I was able to watch S1 in HD. Maybe I'm only imagining that.
Anyway, great first episode. Loved how the whole own knew that he pissed on the guy's head. Will be very interesting for find out what happened to the shoes.

You Might want to check to see if Sundance didn't somehow get switched to its SD counterpart.
