Simon Barry says Showcase Canada will decide on a 4th season in August.

SyFy is basically at the mercy of Showcase right now. I wonder if Showcase cancels it, if SyFy would pay the bill for another season.

I've heard some shows due it to "put pressure" on the network for a renewal. Others do it because they really don't know that they will not come back. I will be shocked and saddened if this doesn't get picked up. As much as I've criticized SyFy, they usually give their longer running shows a proper send off. I can see them picking it up for a six episode run if Showcase drops it.

I think the show comes back unless the budget has gotten crazy with all of the VFX and relatively big cast.

Finally burned through the season. It was a weird one. I thought it started out strong, lost a bunch of steam in the middle, but the last 3 episodes were great.

I'm pretty sure those mech/soldiers were the backup plan to John Doe. If he fails, they come back and destroy everything. He said to run because he knows they are going to go around and destroy everything.

I hope it does get another season, since it seemed like it was turning into a much better sci-fi show.

Kiera is the hardest working actress in the business or Continuum pays her mincemeat. Rachel Nichols became a supporting character on two other cable shows in the past week, showing up in episodes of USA's Rush and Lifetime's Witches of East End. She's playing a wicked witch into twincest on Witches of East End.

Her agent should demand Continuum get better hair and make-up people, Kiera is definitely her frumpiest character.

If one ignores the last few minutes with the mech soldiers, it seems like the show ended off on an anticlimactic whimper.

At this point, the only thing keeping my attention are the mech soldiers. Otherwise, it seems like the chapter is "finished". Would the "next chapter" of a possible season 4+, resemble an apocalypse unfolding in action?

seems really unlikely at this point that this will be renewed. Too bad, it was an uneven but enjoyable and morally complex story in some ways.

However, the cheap bastards in Canada only ordered 6 episodes. Expect SyFy to pick up the final season soon.

SyFy picked it up as well. Will air sometime in 2015. I think late Summer around July or August would be a fair guess.

Agreed that it didn't end on a cliffhanger. However, everything Barry has said sounded like it was a much longer endeavor than we are getting. It really has been a multi-tapestry story with so many layers. I can't help nut feel like we're getting a Babylon 5 redux.

I heard Simon Barry wanted to do a 7 season arc. Obviously that ain't happening. Curious to see how they manage to cram everything into only 6 hours. One of the key things I wonder is if Kiera's story will take her back home to her family or keep her in Vancouver 2015.

It kind of felt to me that in the third season they'd pretty much gotten away from her family and that part of the story.

They shouldn't have had a cliffhanger for the 3rd season not knowing if they'd get picked up. Hopefully they don't screw the fans again and give an actual resolution.

Fitting was was planned for 4 seasons into a half of a season will be tough. But yeah, better this, and that they know it's their final, than nothing at all.
