I don't know what it is about this show. It's not good, although it has gotten much better... yet I find myself eagerly awaiting its return.

And here I was wondering if it had actually gotten better since I bailed halfway through season one. Guess you guys have answered that question for me.

But it's not like you get any cheesecake or eye candy out of this. It's really a bad show and I hate myself for continuing to watch it. Ughhh.

Really? I finally started to watch it on Amazon Prime a few months ago and I was hooked. I burned through the three seasons in a couple of weeks.
That was during the last few weeks of the Walking Dead. While I count myself as a Walking Dead fan, often I am not sure why. I found myself comparing the two shows and wishing Walking Dead was on par with Falling Skies. Sure FS has its faults, but I didn't ask myself "why do I like this?" and lack for answers the way I was with WD.

Lol, hitler youth plot.
Like how the daughter went from being almost half-black looking to Daenerys Targaryen Aryan.

That was a really awkward 1st episode. Something was very off about it. The 1st 10 minutes or so was cool with the attack, then it was like I was watching a completely different show. The tone was completely different. I don't know how many people will like the tonal change by David Eick.
at Lexie aging again and turning into some kind of Daenerys Targaryen religious prophet. That whole subplot was really strange.
The promos for Falling Skies were sort of teasing the re-education camp subplot. That was a really hokey subplot, especially considering only 4 months passed since the attack.
WTF was up with that Tom masked avenger subplot in the "Ghetto" camp.
at the Volm saying..."Keep the Faith"
yeah this episode was a mess. I read alot of comments on the Falling Skies Facebook from people who hated this episode.
Anytime a network hands off a show to a completely new showrunner who had no involvement with the development with this show, in this case David Eick, problems are bound to happen with the writing and tone. But, I was expecting more from him because of his resume coming from Battlestar Galactica.

Wow, this looks like it'll be worse than the final season of Heroes.
Having Tom stuck in alien prison again between seasons was completely lazy.

Yet more proof that the brilliance of BSG largely came from Ronald D. Moore. Eick was also behind the BSG spinoff Blood and Chrome, which was nearly unwatchable.

The show has been consistently bad since the very first episodes. It's a vanity vehicle for Noah Wyle and nothing more. I don't recommend anyone to jump in now but I've already stuck with it for three long seasons. The commune and prophet sub-plot has a lot of potential for kookiness, I want them to dress the aliens up in those robes.

I found it interesting that Ann is now leading a group since everyone is separate. In 3 seasons, she has not shown one ounce of being a capable leader or have any firearms training. She was just a young pediatrician thrown into a bad spot and a mother to a newborn or now 20 something girl.
