Re: Murder in the First (S1E10) -- Season Finale -- "Blunt The Edge" -- 8/11/14

Sort of a lackluster finale. Everything was tied up nicely but there wasn't really any surprise as to what happened. With that said, I thought the cast did an excellent job throughout the season. I'd probably tune in for a second season if they should be so lucky.

Agree, I sort of like the twist that the obvious guy really was the guy, and that gave it some realism, but I would have preferred something a little more clever in the way they caught him instead of him doing the James Bond info dump. Still I think it is strongly cast and would tune in for a second season. I would suspect there is a good chance it would be much better now that the groundwork is done. I suspect it won't get it though.

Extremely lame ending how they got him. No way it would hold up. And he doesn't have his own millions apart from the company to mount a defense? Meh.

I liked the final episode minus the very last part. I liked this show for the most part, it was a good summer type show. But I agree with a previous poster, I don't see this getting a second season.

I'm surprised it got a renewal. I wonder what the plans are for season 2.

Did they resolve the case with the woman in tub? I was thinking that would be the next case if they got renewed, especially since James Cromwell was the husband's attorney.

This definitely has a different pace from last season. The premiere was intense and there a couple of predictable things. I predict that the missing cop will somehow be tied into the main plot.

Great start to the season. My only issue with it was how easy is it for this kid to escape from the police, especially at the concert.

I don't think the two stories are connected. I have a feeling that the shooting will dominate the first few episodes and then the real mystery is what happened to the cop.

You do know that TNT shows re-air all the time and are also available on demand? For cable shows like this, there are plenty of chances to see it.

Re: Murder In The First (TNT) - Season 2 Thread - 6/8/15

I still need to watch the first season, but I really enjoyed how I could watch this clean with no need to really go back to the first season at all. I'm assuming the newspaper about the DA resigning was essentially the one link to the previous season.

DTV doesn't have it on demand.

The guide goes up 2 weeks but until last night I didn't see it listed again.
Looks like a re-air on monday night.

Evan, you are correct on both counts, you do not need to watch the first season, and the story in the paper is about the DA who had to resign.

Really glad to see this one back for another season. We'll see how it goes...season 1 benefited by having the kid (no longer a kid) from Harry Potter, who did real well in his role.

Enjoyed the second episode. I hope there is a good reason for Emmanuelle Chriqui to be in this show because so far she's been underused. Seems like a waste if her only purpose is to be English's love interest.

I also liked him and James Cromwell was also great in season 1.

Agreed. The two of them played well of each other.

With what we learned in episode 2, I'm hoping there's a decent cast/actor for whoever the real bad guys end up being. Clearly the dead officer they found is tied to the missing officer from episode 1.

I have little doubt she and Taye Diggs will be hooking up.

Will be interesting to see where they go this season with the kid being taken out already.

Re: Murder In The First (TNT) - Season 2 Thread - 6/8/15

Just getting caught up with some of the premieres I missed when I was away.

Saw the premiere last night. really great 1st episode. That bus shootout was super intense and graphic. Really good start.

I read the co-creator of the show left about halfway through filming the season back in March.

http://deadline.com/2015/03/murder-i...nt-1201400959/

Steven Bochco is now the sole head writer/showrunner. Should be interesting how this may affect the show.
