Re: Last Show You Binged?

All caught up on the Hulu original series The Awesomes. Season 1 had 10 episodes and so far in season 2 there have been 2 episodes. New ones come out each Monday. It's a fun, little show... Though they do censor certain swear words (they don't say a ton, but here and there the bleep an f bomb) even though the show is rated TV-14 (I think) and bills itself as an adult show for superhero fans.

Half way through season 2 of Chuck. Still a fun show if a little repetitive.

Frasier

Fringe is up next. I've recently been addicted to its theme song.

I love Fringe. Most likely because the theme song is pretty much all JJ Abrams really had to do with the series.

The first half season 5 of Chuck. It starts to go downhill from here, especially the last three episodes.

Re: Last Show You Binged?

The Lottery from Lifetime. All caught up through Sundays episode.

I like some of the cast like Marley Shelton & Athena Karkanis, but I'm not in love with this show. I honestly think that Shelton was miscast as the lead. It's a mish mash of science fiction and government conspiracy thriller.

The ratings for this show aren't good either. It's only a 10 episode season and I've seen 4 of the 10, so might as well finish it. I don't anticipate it getting renewed.

I watched the first 5 episodes of Arrow S1 tonight and I'm hooked. I will probably finish the rest of the season in the next couple of days. I can't wait for Netflix to have S2 so I can watch it and DVR S3 to catch up.

I was hooked right away, too. I don't understand the people that say the first half of season one was terrible. I think Netflix got season one a couple of weeks before season two started. Hopefully, they'll have it up soon so people like you can watch it before the next season starts.

I think what they did last year is that they had it a roughly a month before the season premiere and I think Netflix confirmed that they will do the same for season 2. The season premiere is in early October so they'll have in a few weeks (hopefully). I can't wait!

Cool that you're joining in now. Just curious, why didn't you watch when it premiered 2 years ago? You know it get mostly positive feedback here. I do recall that you said you got so far behind on many shows that you stopped watching many week to week, was that the reason? Or was Arrow never on your radar?

I used to be very active on the TV forum. Starting threads and participating in shows I watched but the past few years, I stopped watching network shows live during the fall. Either I didn't have the time or real life happened and couldn't catch up with shows I DVRed, bought or was interested. Also usually September till May are my busy time at work. Now, with Netflix and Hulu+, I tend to catch up with shows at my own pace and usually later than most people. I don't even buy Blu-rays and DVDs as much as I used to. I'm usually down to buying shows as complete sets and only when they are usually on sale (for the most part).

Looking at the thread of Network Premieres that you made, I think I have only 3 shows that I will follow during the new season and this include Arrow: Brooklyn Nine Nine and Gotham. I'm only in S5 of Bones and Castle and need to catch up. Might give some new shows a chance so who knows, the list might be longer come May.

Re: Last Show You Binged?

Season 1 of Breaking Bad. (The AMC marathon this past Sunday).

I don't have season 1 on bluray (nor dvd). A few weeks ago I picked up the blurays of seasons 2, 3, and 4 after finding them in the local $5 dump bins. Originally I had no intention of buying any Breaking Bad dvds/blurays, but at $5 a pop it was too hard to resist.

Originally I watched season 5 and 5.5, without ever watching the previous seasons. (I don't remember much of it). It was an AMC marathon, where I decided to check out what the hype was about.

(On a tangent).

Awhile ago I recorded the season 1 marathon of The Walking Dead. I couldn't get into that show (TWD) at all. But season 5/5.5 of Breaking Bad kept my attention.

Re: Last Show You Binged?

I finished Arrow S1 last night and loved it. Thankfully I will be going on vacation soon and I don't have to worry about wanting to watch S2 and not being able to do so (legally). I was hoping that some of the other Netflix regions might have it but no such luck. Hulu+ only has 5 episodes starting with episode 13 I think.

I love how all of the characters interact with one another. I loved Everwood but I never thought that Greg Berlanti could translate it to a super heroes series. I like the addition of Diggs and Felicity to the team especially Felicity. I'm not just saying because of her looks but the way her character is written, it gives her this nerd charm to her. I kept looking at Willa Holland and thinking that she looks like Misha Barton and imagine my surprise to find on IMDB that she played her sister on OC I used to watch the OC but bailed after the second season.

The whole island flashbacks reminds me of Lost in a good way. I thought the one weakness of the show was the whole Ollie/Laurel/Tommy triangle but thankfully I don't think I have to worry about that in S2. The character of Roy Harper was annoying too so hopefully that improves. I never heard of Stephen Amell before this show but I think he's great as Ollie. I still don't know that to make of Katie Cassidy. I'm not sure whether is her role as Laurel or her that I don't quite like.

Hit the Floor

Finished the final 2 episodes of season 2. It ended on a very interesting note. This was the first original show I've ever watched on VH1 and it turned out to be a really fun diversion. I look forward to it again next summer.

Over the last few days I binged on all five current eps of Extant. Not a bad sci-fi show.

Re: Last Show You Binged?

Episodes 11-13 of the FOX drama Gang Related tonight. Tonight was the season and possibly series finale.

It was a really fun 13 week ride. A very worthy watch IMO.

Re: Last Show You Binged?

Just started 'The League' and blew through 8 episodes last night. Not an overly hysterical show, but it definitely has its moments and enough to keep me watching.
