Broadchurch series 1

Re: Last Show You Binged?
I shot through Mad Men S1 up to where they stopped in season 7 over the past 3 weeks. Starting up Law and Order now
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
I rarely binge anything but I devoured Penny Dreadful recently in a couple of days. I was blown away by the execution, I didn't realize it would incorporate so many 19th Century monsters of fame. The writing was also far more literate than standard television fare, which is a great thing in this day of pandering to the lowest common denominator.
One looking for a more sophisticated, literate horror experience should greatly enjoy Penny Dreadful. |

Murder In The First

Re: Last Show You Binged?
Finished ep 6 of Band Of Brothers. Four more plus the doc to go.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Funny how we're a week or 2 away from shows resuming and even though this is the perfect time to binge and catch up, there will still be people here massively behind come January.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
I'm Binging on That 70's show. I stopped watching at the end of season 5 on it's network run. It was quite a surprise when I started season 6 last night to see The actress Laurie get replaced

Re: Last Show You Binged?
Finished the last 3 episodes of The Vampire Diaries heading into the winter break, including the midseason finale.

Mozart in the Jungle. It was really cool, funny, and smart. It was not as salacious as I thought was going to be. It's a downright classy and entertaining show.
This show is great! Solid performances by everyone except Constantine Maroulis (... he still sucks). ;) I plan on finishing it today. |
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Survivor Gabon. It was a good cast but most of the interesting and entertaining people went home too early. Final 5 was blah.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Finished Mozart in the Jungle. Wonderful show... but it didn't need all the language. They could have trimmed that down a bit. Loved the characters and the idea of a behind-the-scenes show about the symphony.
Highly recommend it! |
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Ascension. Finished all 3 episodes over the last week. Kind of an odd science fiction series.
Also finished the last 3 episodes of The Mentalist. |
Re: Last Show You Binged?
I've been bingeing HIMYM since November. Just started season 6 so I expect it be downhill from here.

Re: Last Show You Binged?
Once Upon a Time -- The Last 5 episodes including the special 2 hour episode and the midseason finale.
I'm off from work today, so I had time to get through some DVR backlog. |

Re: Last Show You Binged?
Just binged watched True Detective (if eight episodes constitutes binge watching). Didn't care for it.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
A few eps. of the first season of Revenge.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Finally watched 16 eps. of Strike Back to catch up through S2.
I've caught up pretty well on the shows I normally watch, but have a lot waiting like House of Cards, True Detective, Orphan Black or Arrow (which I want to watch at least the 2 Seasons I own before seeing the Flash crossover and the episode afterwards). |
Re: Last Show You Binged?
The Missing. Stayed up most of the night watching Episodes 3-8.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Lost Girl. No idea why I'm still watching it.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Haven: finished the last 5 episodes of season 5's first half. Great season and arc.
Benched: finished last 5 episodes of the season. I'd like to see this come back. They definitely left things up in the air with a few characters. CSI: currently trying to finish up the last 8 episodes that aired. Feels kind of good getting through all this backlog. |
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Not a serial show, but this afternoon I binge watched the five rounds of the Cutthroat Kitchen: Superstar Sabotage that replayed last night... that I DVR'ed on Food Network.
... plus the first two episodes of Season 4 of Falling Skies and few eps of Chopped I watched this morning. I'm sick of being sick. :( |
Re: Last Show You Binged?
Just started New Girl. I've caught a few episodes and they were really funny. Hopefully the seasons hold up.

That show just about killed what little faith I had in the federal government, state and local governments, corporations, and human beings in general. The funny thing is, Treme was a far more upbeat series than The Wire or Homicide: Life on the Street! No more David Simon shows for quite some time.

Re: Last Show You Binged?
Almost done with two seasons of The Americans on amazon prime.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
The past two days, I went through the S1 episodes of Elementary on Netflix. I have to admit, when I first watched this show, I thought it was "The Mentalist 2.0" but I have to give credit to the show's producers, writers and actors, in order to give us a revisionist touch of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Mind you, is not as great as Sherlock, but I will continue unto S2 of this show.
|
Re: Last Show You Binged?
I didn't get through as much over the holiday break as I had hoped to.
Finally watched The Pacific, then launched through the current season of Agents of SHIELD (didn't even go back to catch up on S1). Hit a run where I didn't watch much at all, then binged through season 2 of The Following over the last few days. Last year I tore through all four seasons of Spartacus, both seasons of Rome, and a bunch of movies. |
Re: Last Show You Binged?
NCIS: Los Angeles - The last 8 episodes of the current season. Now caught up for Monday's new episode.

For reviewing purposes, I had to binge Black Sails: Season One. Recommended for fans of pirates, I think it was Starz' attempt at making their own Game of Thrones series. I could quibble with the lead female character having a far bigger role in the 1715 setting's complex power dynamics than history would warrant, but except for some meandering in the middle of the season is fairly solid entertainment. The episodes do run too long at nearly an hour. |
