Chuck: Season 5

Wow, what a journey. First time I've ran all the way through all 5 seasons since it concluded. Amazing that it's already been off the air for 5 years. The first half of season 5 seemed like a misstep but once the end game was in sight, they really kicked it into high gear. The second half of the season was as good as season 2(Chuck's high point). Part of that can be attributed to Angus McFadyen. You're only as good as your villain and man was he ruthless.

And then there's the controversial ending. I went back and re-read the entire finale thread and amazingly enough I loved it then and probably love it more now. The writers and actors knew how to craft characters to love and it showed in the finale. Even Jeffster delivered after being mostly filler for two seasons. As for the ending itself, knowing how it ends allows you to look at scenes and character moments a bit differently as they happen. Honestly, I think the ending is quite brilliant. It's not what people expected or wanted but that's what makes it great. Without any spoilers, I'm fully down with a fairy tale ending interpretation of the ambiguous ending.

I'm already looking forward to running through this show again in a few years with my kids. Truly one of the underappreciated greats.

Although I was and still am conflicted about the wrap up, I still think the finale was strong. Morgan conducting the orchestra had me in stitches. It was just a tad too dark for me in the few episodes leading up to the finale. Still have binged the entire series a few times since it went off the air and think it is an underappreciated gem.

Oh man, that Jeffster performance with the orchestra was so perfect. Morgan conducting was so absurd but hilarious. One of a few laugh out loud moments. I watched the finale w/commentary after watching the actual finale. Surprisingly light on details, it was mostly a "walk down memory lane" thing, but Vick/Lester actually sang during that A-Ha performance as well as all the jeffster songs. I always thought it sounded like him but was never positive.

I will agree on the serious tone of the two episodes leading into the finale. I don't think there was a single joke in the penultimate episode which was very odd for such a lighthearted show.

Finished S4 of the Blacklist with Mr. Caplan over and started the first ep of S5 with Red trying to rebuild and Elizabeth knowing the truth.

Binging The Crown Season 1. Never cared much about The Royal Family but this is a great show and you get sucked into all the politics with the Royal Family and Churchill. Didn’t watch the Emmys but Lithgow deserved the award for his portrayal of Churchill.

A few eps into a "Glitch"(Netflix) binge. So far it's not grabbing me like the S1. :(

I'm six episodes into the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and I'm loving it. This might be the Palladinos' best series. I'm honestly liking it more than Gilmore Girls. Their writing works a lot better in a period piece.

I'm also almost finished with series 3 of Doc Martin on Netflix. I'm really enjoying it too.

I finished The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I loved it. I also binged nine episodes of Star Trek Discovery. I liked it, but it would be much better if the main character was more interesting or likeable. I started Doc Martin series 4 too.

Voltron Legendary Defender series, really enjoying it!

Currently 5 episodes into the Australian series "Vietnam" with Nicole Kidman.

Pretty good stuff!

It got my attention because it's co-written and co-directed by John Duigan of "The Year My Voice Broke" and "Flirting" fame.

She's Gotta Have It. I enjoyed the show a lot, but did think certain character quirks from Nola irked me. Her irresponsibility was annoying. I also just noticed that Netflix has the original film it's based on. That's definitely a new acquisition.

23 episodes A season are hard for me to binge watch. And I really enjoy watching Arrow.
I'm on season 3 or 4 of Arrrow and
Spoiler:
Flash just showed up on the show.

I tired to watch the The Flash but only made it through A few episodes and put it on the back burner.

On the 5th season of Ray Donovan .
Really like Jon Voight as Mickey.I think his acting on the show takes it from average to above.

I might be about the only person that does not really like Stranger Things.Still I bought the Target BF special first season for 10
I think it is okay but I really hate and think
Spoiler:
Winona Ryder is overacting
and ruins the mood for me.lol
Yeah I'm weird

Three more episodes of Blacklist from current season. One more and I'm caught up. I have to say this program has come back strong after quite a few been there, done that episodes. This has worked it's way back into "must see" TV for me.

working thru the series Six Feet Under for the first time since I watched it live back in the day. Holds up really well all things considered. Up to season 3 now.

Started my annual watch of Band Of Brothers. In spite of the artistic license they took with the mini-series when compared to the book, I still think it is one of the best mini-series ever and one of my favorite BR's

Dark on Netflix

Not sure I understood what the heck was going on half the time, but enjoyed it, might need to rewatch a 2nd time.

Watched in original German with English subtitles

Watched the first 3 episodes of Godless on Netflix and I am eager to finish it up between now and the new year...brutal but captivating show.
