Which Shows Do You Live Tweet on Twitter?

Simple question: which TV shows and specials do you watch and live tweet about on Twitter?

None. I'd rather watch it instead of missing parts because I'm tweeting.

I'm still not confident that I fully understand what Twitter even is.

Re: Which Shows Do You Live Tweet on Twitter?

I was asking because in the past I only live tweeted special events (like the Super Bowl and the Oscars), but lately have been doing it for Cosmos.

I think it's fun to follow the hashtags and tweet something out now and then. Plus it makes the commercial breaks go by faster (I only check out Twitter during commercial breaks so I don't miss any part of the show).

The hashtags that come up during scenes are so damn annoying. It's like they create them just for something zany. #horsepooppool

I follow a number of tweeters and I feel like I only see half a conversation, the tweeter I follow.

If you click on the tweet, it will show you the comment they're responding to.

Never done it. To be honest though I've never really gotten very involved with Twitter. I've tried a couple of times but it doesn't keep me interested very long and just seems like a glorified list of Facebook status updates.

So people that do commentary tracks on video are childish. Same with the gang that did MST3K. I see a good number of DVDTalk members posting during sporting events and major award shows like the Oscars. What they do is childish?

Live tweeting is the same thing. Only thing different is the media.

Re: Which Shows Do You Live Tweet on Twitter?

I don't see what the big deal is with all the naysayers. Plenty of adults tweet, including the actors, producers and directors who do live commentary or interact with their followers to some extent. It's not a kid thing. If you don't get it or think it's a waste of time, then fine, but plenty of people enjoy it.

Live tweeting during a tv episode is almost like a commentary track.

I've sent some tweets to some actors and if he/she likes your comment, they may respond to it, retweet it or favorite it.

Kiefer Sutherland of 24 just got into Twitter a few years ago and he's been posting updates from the set. Same with 24 director Jon Cassar and they will occasionally interact with fans.

I would say that commentary tracks aren't really the same thing as it's people who worked on the film/show generally or are in the industry and not just some random people on Twitter making comments. Same thing for Myster Science Theater 3000 as that was an actual show. You have a point with those of us who post on forums I suppose though.

Re: Which Shows Do You Live Tweet on Twitter?

Keifer Sutherland's thoughts on 24 = interesting
else = not

If you are gabbing about something directly with 'friends' I think that's a little different. I wouldn't compare posting in this thread to tweeting. In most cases broadcasting your thoughts for the world to reap seems a little self-indulgent. Or self-important. Or both. It's like someone alluded to above, people need to know every one of my most trivial thoughts and Facebook just wasn't getting the job done. But 140 characters of mangled grammar will be my testimony to the world.

And yes, the hash tag crap is beyond ridiculous at this point. The only thing sadder than shows constantly pleading for them is the idea that people actually respond.

I agree.

The worst thing about twitter -- first thing that made me feel old. Google, youtube, facebook, etc, not so much.

I don't really use twitter (although I have an account) but the idea that it's any more childish or silly then any other online discussion is funny to me.

And this is why employers ask for this nonsense. To see your nonsense. Not you, Bill. I tell my younger relatives to post carefully to these pages.

And I'm with you on the hashtag. I know I'm old when that is the pound sign.

Re: Which Shows Do You Live Tweet on Twitter?

My kid was in his final year of his engineering major and was starting to look seriously for that first paying gig. I sat down with him and typed his name and the city we live in into Google. The first hit was his twitter account. There was a bunch of the usual adolescent male type stuff in there. I asked him how long he thought it would take a prospective employer to find that same information.
