I think this was a pretty poor episode.
The jumping between two completely separate storylines wasn't very well done. It made two pretty slow moving stories seem even slower. Cas' story was just a collection of tired cliches. It's not even worth getting into.
The Winchester storyline had some problems too, like how stupid they were to both get captured. Are we suppose to think that the Winchesters are dumb enough to believe Crowley was just using rental units at a legitimate storage rental facility for his own kidnapping cells? Obviously whoever was running the place was in on it, so even if they didn't suspect the staff before arriving they should have been well on guard after finding the fake name in the record book.
I kept expecting a twist because somebody killed Candi, the ghost, the week prior, but the clerk kept going on about how he wasn't allowed to kill the prisoners and it had been a long time since he had killed anyone. The way Mrs. Tran killed the clerk was odd, although they did show scenes of her trying to escape, screaming , etc when it was just her and the clerk, so it would make much sense for her to be possessed and in on some scheme. Unless maybe that scene was from just before she got possessed. Either way, I don't think the show is done with Kevin.
And did they free Jerome? Candi mentioned him as the third prisoner but he was never shown or referenced after that.
I think Kevin was speaking for the audience with his "let it go" request, which the writers promptly blew off.

They are aware of it don't really care. They do need to end that soon and limit such issues next season completely. It happens to some degree each season and it's a bit old.

Kind of meh for me - just tired of the bickering/fighting Winchesters and the absence of a menacing big bad. The whole "angels out of heaven" is a nice idea theoretically, but I don't care that much about the potential resolution, Metatron, etc.

Metatron is a fairly weak big bad for an entire season, he's just not menacing enough. Kripke got out at the right time when he realized he couldn't get much of a bigger threat than Lucifer himself.
It's too bad the father couldn't come back on the show. I'd make him the Big Bad for an entire season.

I think the show had an opportunity after last season to reset itself and get some distance from the constant apocalyptic, end of earth stakes they have set up since the introduction of angels in the 4th season. It would have been nice to have a season of good old monster of the week type episodes, maybe have a recurring seasonal story center around the fallen angels now on earth, how things are chaotic, with hints of something bad developing, keep the boys a lot more in the dark, like the early seasons with the yellow eyed demon's scheming.
Metatron and the Sam/Gadreel storyline kind of blew that possibility though and it hangs over and undercuts the monster of the week episodes, and the angel stuff has been too obvious and in our face.
