It looks like I need to make a ruling on the Mark & Mallory thing. As I see it JasonF and Silly Burrito are still eligible to win with Mallory as a replacement for Bopper because Mark is still running the race and only 1 team was eliminated tonight.

In the future, any other late substitutions will be handled the same way.

This is the 3rd game in a row I have been out after the premier.

FWIW, I've added this rule for TAR and the survivor games. It will be known as the "Bopper" rule.

It seems to be the most practical solution, so I'm glad everyone is satisfied with it.

This was a mild spoiler for me since I drafted for the Survivor game before watching the first TAR episode. No big deal, though.

On the subject of spoilers, though, I would humbly request that winners who haven't posted in the game thread not be notified right away. Coincidentally, the two times I've won I haven't been able to watch the episode live and learned what happened by the winning notification. (Good problems to have, I know.) The first time it was a few days after the airing so that's my fault, but most recently it was the morning after. This is not intended to criticize how this and the Survivor games are run because they're done very well, and as I've said in the past, the thrash over payment in some of the fantasy games makes me appreciate the prompt payments in these games even more. And yes, I know the promptness relies on people being notified they've won. The December game tends to conflict with some longstanding commitments. I will do my best to win this year and watch the finale live.

I've always tried to maintain a high standard for paying winners ASAP. I can see your point though.

Perhaps a better solution would be for people to send me a PM before the season finale airs saying not to notify. This would leave it up to you to notify me when you're ready to be paid.

Looks like I missed some interesting discussion by not watching the premiere until today. I'm just glad I'm still in the game. I have had bad luck in The Amazing Race game. I tend to pick teams that are among the first ones out. Good luck to everyone. Looks like it could be a good season.

This is a good approach since it would affect only a handful of people, and you wouldn't have to delay and wonder. If I know I'm going to miss the live broadcast, I'll let you know, and if I remember, I'll remind this thread as well before the finale airs. Thanks for your efforts on both of these games!
