I never want this show to be over, you can always tell there is something exciting ready to happen next, then it ends.

You can stop right there. It applies whether we're talking episode, season, or whole show.

Seems odd to take a Sochi break for a week when you already aired an episode up against the Olympics.

Still an amazing hour of television. God damn this show.

Yeah, I'm not understanding the strategy of running and hiding your shows from the Olympics, especially the Cable-nets which typically run shows that skew more male, while the Olympics skew more female. Oh well, my DVR is practically bare for the next two weeks.

---

Really liked how they chose to make the Raylan-to-Art admission off-camera and let the fallout just be the underbelly of the story and maybe the rest of the season. Really great.

I have no interest in the Olympics... but I do like that I have a nice 2 week break of shows where I can catch up on some other things. Recorded shows...movies...etc.

definitely bummed that show is skipping a week.
I know that it should be obvious...but, why is Art this upset?
Is it that now he will have to cover up for Raylon (sp?)?

I'd guess because although Art knows raylan plays fast and loose with the rules, he generally is trying to do the right thing. In this case, he flat out facilitated the murder of a person.

I think it may be more because Art now has to decide whether to become part of the conspiracy (not in legal terms necessarily as much as in moral ones) or to back Raylan. In the end he's backing Ryalan, but he isn't thrilled with it at all. It was all very unjustified, and it's because he couldn't keep it in his pants.

I thought Raylan had him taken out because the Yes Dear guy went after his baby momma and said he'd do it again.

Thus the keeping it in the pants line.

Yeah, it's pretty much the whole having him taken out for person reasons. Which, while I'm sure Art can hear out, as lawmen, you aren't justified in aiding a crime organization.

Great episode. I like Boyd scheming and teaming up with Daryl. I can buy the Florida Crows as muscle for hire better than as major players. Don't know where they're going with Raylan and Art, and that's a good thing.

A ton of plot lines this season but this past week's episode was awesome!

This is right. The guy straight-up said he was going to kill Raylan's family, and this is after taking his wife hostage. All Raylan did was walk away and leave Sammy to take care of things. Seemed, um, justified, to me. (Though yes, perhaps not entirely U.S. Marshal protocol.)

This is the same family he doesn't even go see. I'm not saying Raylan had no reason to fear Nick Augustine would do exactly what he said he would do. Nick Augustine also clearly wasn't ever going to give Raylan justification to kill him. That still doesn't mean it's going to sit well with Art what Raylan did. Raylan was the guy who even though he kills scumbags does it in a justified way according to Marshal protocol. The draw on him and they die. This was a departure from that.

He didn't exactly just walk away, he contacted Sammy in detroit and told him where augustine was. He didn't just turn on his back and pretend not to notice, he played a key part in getting Sammy down there, knowing full well what would happen.

What I meant is he didn't pull the trigger. And he told Augustine to back off, and the response was basically, "I'm going to kill your family, and there's nothing you can do about it." He then literally "walked away" and let the bad guys sort it out. Maybe it wasn't likely Augustine would back off, but if he had I think it would have gone a different way. I'm fine with it.

Re: Justified -- "Kill the Messenger" -- 2/11/14

Scenario 1:

Augustine draws on Raylan and dies at Raylan's hands.

Secenario 2:

Augustine doesn't draw on Raylan and dies at Theo's hands. If Augustine had been the most apologetic person in the world and said it was completely wrong to do what he did, Theo still kills him. In that sense, it could be said this was a revenge killing for what he did, not a proactive measure to protect Winona and the child.

Re: Justified -- "Kill the Messenger" -- 2/11/14

Was there a new episode last night? I have my dvr set up to record the season, but nothing is on there from last night. I'm assuming no, but just wanted to make sure. The reason I ask is because my dvr didn't record the first episode of the season either, so this wouldn't be the first time.
