Also, you would think survivors would track down and use backpacks. Walking around carrying bags of groceries instead of keeping your hands free doesn't seem like the wisest move. Or is the thinking a backpack is easier for a walker to grab?

Carl was trying awful hard to win a Darwin Award in this episode. Rick may make some really bad decisions at times, but Carl is a whole 'nother level of useless. And the clueless little fucker was actually proud of himself! I was really rooting for that walker in the house to take a hunk out of Carl's leg.

I think that was the worst hour of television I have ever seen. Easily the worst episode of an incredibly overrated series that gets worse with each incredibly repetitive episode. Once I knew Rick was still alive I deleted it. Won't be watching this ever again. I mean holy shit that episode makes The Following seem like Shakespeare. The "acting" was so incredibly bad it was funny, and the entire plot is just completely ludicrous and insanely boring. Truly truly incredibly bad television. But there were beheadings, provably 20 of them so there's that. What a mess.

And why not take a frickin bath? Water would still work in those completely stock unlooted wealthy neighborhood homes that have gone untouched for 2 years, except for the single zombie locked in the bedroom.
If the zombie survives for years without food or water why the hell are they so hungry? They clearly live off magic

I enjoyed it well enough because I like almost everything I try to watch. One could still say this show is on the overrated side which does not mean we can't enjoy it. Just a lot of hype when it nothing amazing for the most part.

I want pudding.
I don't like the makeup for the jawless walkers. They clearly have something protruding from their faces rather than a lack of a jaw.

I thought it was ok. Carl and Michonne had some really bad acting moments but they also had some good ones. Well Michonne's bad moment might have been directed that way.
For Michonne her bad moment was the dream part. This is why I'm not sure if she doing bad acting or dream logic was limiting her range. The scream in particular wasn't believable to me. Outside the dream though she was fine.
Unfortunately Carl was bad throughout accept for a few moments. One reason for this was his words were kind of silly for a kid his age and having his experiences. Some of his rants were better suited for a 8 year old. However, even if he had better lines I don't think he would be able to give them in a believable way.
Instead of going back and forth between Carl and Michonne they should have went between Carl and Ty and next week did Michonne and Daryl.

And they came to the thread.
And yeah, I also thought that Michonne's dream sequence didn't work.It was either too long, or too short. Or the writers screwed it. We at least got some knowledge, I guess.

I like that brief 30 seconds or so where Carl was allowing himself to be a kid ogling the video games and stuff in the bedroom, before he snaps back to reality. That, sadly, was best acting all episode.
But this was just a slight episode. Nice to have Michonne back-story, but the dream sequence was amateurish.

I think Chandler Riggs is quite believable playing Carl. I think we're all forgetting what assholes we all were when we were young teens.
I've never been a fan of the actress playing Michonne, though. I'm going to blame the writers on that one, since - after seeing her on Talking Dead - she seems to be a pleasant enough person and knows her craft pretty well.
Incidentally, last night's Talking Dead may have been more entertaining than the episode...particularly when Chris Hardwick force-fed a young girl some pudding, only to have her respond "I don't like chocolate."

Pretty good episode. Carl was conveniently dumb for tonight's story, which bothered me. But I liked the theme and tone of the episode so it's okay.
Definitely a little underwhelmed though, but I think that's because I watched this right after True Detective, which had the best episode of TV in years.

Carl had been living in this world for a while now and having had to deal with Rick losing it, I can understand where all this comes from. And like any kid his age, he thought he was invincible. Always takes something dramatic to snap them back to reality. However, eating all that pudding will probably give him the hershey squirts something awful.

I think The Following is terrible. Just a way to point out how incredibly stupid this episode and that it was actually worse, dumber and more poorly acted than that show. The gore doesn't interest me and from my viewpoint it is the only thing left in this crapfest. First season was OK-ish, first half of season 3 was interesting but it has been terrible otherwise. It's deleted from my DVR queue though it was the 28th priority on the list anyway. I just kept waiting for them to show some semblance of intelligence in this show but instead it just gets dumber and dumber.
