Synopsis:

ARROW HUNTS DOWN SHRAPNEL - Oliver must tackle a new threat to the city when bombs start to go off in Starling City. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) discovers the person setting them off is Mark Sheffner (guest star Sean Maher), a man who goes by the nickname Shrapnel. Arrow discovers Shrapnel's next target is Sebastian Blood's (guest star Kevin Alejandro) "Unity Rally" and tries to talk the alderman out of hosting it, but he refuses. Arrow sets off to stop the bombing, but Shrapnel tricks him and traps him in a bomb-laced antique store where he is unable to move without setting off the device. While Felicity helps Oliver, Diggle (David Ramsey) races to the plaza to find the bomb before it goes off. Meanwhile, Roy (Colton Haynes) continues to hide his new strength from Thea (Willa Holland) but, after she witnesses his super strength in action at the rally, she demands answers. Laurel's (Katie Cassidy) suspicions about Sebastian grow stronger once she learns that he grew up with Cyrus Gold, the man who killed Lance's (Paul Blackthorne) partner. After Donner (guest Star Dylan Bruce) refuses to help her investigate, she turns to Arrow (Stephen Amell) for help. Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Jake Coburn & Keto Shimizu (#210).

Is Katie Cassidy losing weight? Her jawline looks so odd nowadays on the show.

Wasn't really crazy about this episode. Thought Shrapnel was a pretty weak villain. At least they acknowledged what happened to Barry since we aren't going to see him again until Flash gets greenlit.

Ollie was kind of a dick to Felicity as well. Glad he apologized later.

I like the mask and Ollie on the motorcycle.

At least Laurel wasn't totally useless and found out some truth about Sebastian.

I thought the same thing... she is slowly withering away... it looks like she her legs are going to snap in heels. Her face isn't appealing anymore either.

I agree Katie looks terribly skinny... and I used to think she was hot.

I also noticed the same thing about Katie. In fact all of them looked subtly different I wonder if there was a gap in filming

Police officer Lance really needs to figure it out that Arrow is Ollie. He was engaged to his daughter and aside from the mask looks exactly like Ollie. He would recognize him.

I see Det. Lance as a Jim Gordon thing, he doesn't care who it is at this point.

It looked to me like she's had more work done on her face, though a few pounds getting dropped accentuates it. She must be on a strict, low-carb diet.

It looks like Roy has injury-resistant skin now and possibly superstrength.

Arrow isn't a firefighter, seems kind of odd running into burning buildings. Sure if you happen to be there but what's the point if you aren't near by.

you can cut deli meat with Katie Cassidy's jawline.

Yeah, she doesn't look healthy. Hopefully it's for the role and the drug addiction.

I think the biggest problem with her character isn't the plot, as much as she acts irrational.
1) Let me run around and tell everybody I'm investigating the guy for mayor.
2) Let me run in an attempt to befriend a lady in the mental hospital late at night.

It comes off as bad compared to others in the show. However, Thea isn't far behind.

How smokin' was Thea in that mini-dress?

OK episode, a bit of filler but fine. The island backstory was more interesting, but at least they gave Laurel something to do other than being onscreen buzzkill. Yeah that jawline is offputting.

The mask looked great though. An excellent addition. I hope they gradually transform Ollie's character from grim night avenger to jolly wisecrackin' hippie Oliver Queen/Green Arrow from the DC Universe.

Well, the original DCU anyhow. Not quite sure if that flies in the "Nu DC".

Shrapnel was kind of a weak villain. Almost an afterthought, really.

We wondered the exact same thing when we watched. She just looks strange.

Do we know what character Roy will become?

He was clearly cut (deep) with the glass judging by all the blood that was on the glass. He doesn't have tough skin, he has some sort of regeneration, since there was no cut later on.

He's destined to become Speedy/Arsenal/Red Arrow... they'll probably find a cure for him but maybe he'll retain enhanced reflexes or something.

If the Nightwing rumors are true, that'd be great if this set up an eventual Titans series. I'm sure you could finagle Aqualad and Wonder Girl, eventually a Kid Flash if the Flash series can spin one off. I don't know. I have enough aggravation. Where's my hat?
