Baskets (FX) -- Series Thread -- C: Galifianakis & Louis C.K.
When Louis C.K., creator/star of FX‘s acclaimed comedy series Louie, signed an overall deal with FX Productions last month, one of his main goals was to guide other creators as they get their projects off the ground. “I can’t wait to see who he brings through our door,” FX Networks CEO John Landgraf said at the time. Well, he brought another A-list comedian, Zach Galifianakis. FX has ordered a comedy pilot created by and starring Galifianakis and co-written by Louis C.K. There is no concept yet for the project, the first to come out of Louis C.K. and his company’s Pig Newton’s overall pact at FX Productions. Galifianakis will executive produce alongside Louis C.K., Blair Breard, Dave Becky, Andrea Pett-Joseph and Marc Gurvitz. This marks the 12th (!) greenlighted comedy pilot for FX Productions as the company is ramping up comedy production to supply both FX and sibling FXX. Galifianakis is with Brillstein; C.K. is with 3 Arts Entertainment; Breard is repped by UTA. |

Bored to Death was a really under appreciated show, I wish HBO would have given it a few more seasons than get rid of it so I look forward to this.

Baskets, a new comedy co-created by and starring Zach Galifianakis, debuts on FX on Thursday January 21 at 10 PM ET/PT. Chip Baskets (Galifianakis) wants to follow his dream of being a French clown - however, reality keeps interfering. I only laughed once when the woman said there were good mopeds made in America and he said "Who are you, Lee Greenwood?"
Otherwise, this was dull and not funny. |

I enjoyed it as well. There were some pretty good laughs in it. I'll definitely be watching.

I could see how some may like Baskets but its sense of humor is not for me. I bet that F/X is itching to renew it with Louis C.K. and Zach Gal. involved.
This will be a comedy where you have to tolerate the characters. |

I liked it, but I can definately see how it is not for many people. I hate that they showed most of the episode on the commercials.

Louie Anderson was a surprise. I like that Zach G. plays both Chip and Dale Baskets. Adding their younger twin brothers to an episode will make things more bizarre.

Tried to watch this. Didn't care for it. It tried too hard to be weird, and didn't try hard enough to be funny. I also don't care for Galifinakis and his whole shtick.

2nd ep wasn't as good as the pilot. The Juggalo saga didn't work at all. Loving the costco insurance adjuster though, shes hilarious. Louis Anderson is also good.

Yeah, I'm done with this. I didn't have high hopes to begin with, 'cos I think Galifianakis is only good in small doses. I mean, his characters are funny in ensemble stuff like the Hangover films and Bored to Death... but when he's the main focus? Nah.
