I'll see where the threads of the once-dead Coulson play out here, but I think this where I bow out on this show; didn't miss it on the holiday break.

Yeah, didn't see that coming. Damn.
Will they bring Fury in for season finale to answer to Coulson?

I wish this show had balls.

Basically just a placeholder to get Coulson back on the plane, little new information. I want that Lamborghini. So much. Kevin Hooks is the guy who made that old 90s Snipes action flick Passenger 57, apparently. This episode would've been a lot better without half the screen chopped off for information about school closings. Damn snow.

The brain thing was pretty freaky, but the reveal didn't seem like that big of a deal to me, unless i'm misunderstanding what happened. So basically Coulson died, Fury kept him alive somehow, and they tinkered with his brain to stop him from wanting to die?
The rest of the episode wasn't particularly good, but I liked the Peterson thing at the end.

^Hell yeah!
The surprising thing to me about Coulson was that he was dead for days, not just a few hours. Loved the way his memory played out and him begging to die. Creepy shit.

I liked this episode. The reveal about Coulson is giving little bits and pieces of info, kind of like what Whedon did on Buffy and Angel. I'm intrigued to see what exactly happened to him and how they kept him alive.

I'm with you - over the break I was going through the DVR and deleted the 3 or so episodes of this i had left.
I just had no interest in watching this. I will still check out the threads to see if there is any big reveal.

Yeah the Coulson storyline took a really dark and twisted turn. The brain operation was really creepy.
I agree that Samuel L. Jackson will probably guest star in the season finale to answer to Coulson.
at Skye pretending to be May and then that dude had no idea how to work his computer to find account history.
I knew Peterson wasn't dead after the last episode, so it wasn't a huge surprise except for the condition he was in.

Yeah, that brain thing was crazy. Not much of a reveal other than he was dead for days. Interested in finding out who this "clairvoyant" is. Seems like it could just be a mole within Shield.

I feel like this show has good ideas for the overall story arc (Centipede, the Clairvoyant, Coulson), but mediocre to bad execution on getting the characters there.

I thought this was a good ep. Definitely had my interest for the whole time , which seldom happens with this show. My speculation on the Clairvoyant is that he might be Robert Redford's character in the upcoming Captain America movie. Or maybe just some B-list celebrity they can pull out as a guest star.

We got a lot of answers without really giving us the answer.
So Coulson isn't a robot, he isn't a LMD, he really died and was brought back from the dead.
Now, I suppose the question is WHY? Why did Fury want Coulson kept alive?
I was fully expecting Mike to turn up alive at some point, though not necessarily this episode. Good call on his potential future; my first instinct was Cable, but that's the wrong studio...

They're promoting that Donnie Gill (aka Blizzard) will appear in next week's episode.

Plus, we don't know if that's all that happened. The robot could have been doing something else too, like transferring the real Coulson's memories to an LMD. Notice that Coulson doesn't have any scars from having his head split open like that.
The MCU is often saying that magic doesn't exist. Magic is just really advanced science that we don't understand. Even Thor and the other Asgardians aren't magical. They are just far more advanced scientifically. The doctor tells Coulson he was dead, not for seconds, but for days. Resurrecting someone days after their death just sounds too much like magic. A machine or LMD makes more sense given that.
