Broad City (Comedy Central) --- Series Thread

Courtesy of the collective brains of and starring Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, "Broad City" is an odd couple comedy about two best friends navigating their twenties in New York City whose adventures always lead down unexpected and outlandish paths. They're broke, flawed and don't shy away from the sticky situations NYC throws at them -- they dive right into the muck. But no matter how bad it gets, these young broads are always down with whatever hits them.
The first ep is online free, pretty funny in a Portlandia way I need a screencap of the curly haired girl on all fours scrubbing the floor.

Will Poehler appear in any of the episodes?

I'd assume she'll probably pop up in an upcoming episode.

Yeah, I'm liking this show a lot. I also just started watching Kroll Show. That's funny as hell too.

Season has gotten progressively better. The stolen cell phone and storm episodes were awesome.

Weakest episode so far. I mean there were some funny moments, but it felt like they went over the top and fell into sit-com stereotypes. Most of it felt like it was rehashed from Seinfeld (not a bad show to borrow from).

I also read that article about the show getting renewed, and read something very scary:

"I didn't realize Broad City was so good until I read all the incredible reviews,” said Kent Alterman, president of content development and original programming at Comedy Central. “Now I'm really excited about it."

The guy in charge of programming at Comedy Central didn't realize how good the show was until critics TOLD him?!?! Ugh.

Not surprising. I'm sure the underlings do all the work for him.

I'm going through this show right now and loving it. The last episode I watched, Stolen Phone, had me in stitches especially when they has to go to the upper east side and Ilana pulled off her top and no one would take a picture because they already took one of the other topless lady.

Ilana is awesome, btw.

Each episode has been funnier than the last.

That was good stuff, but the scene after that with the "roommate" was even better. ("Butt stuff")

Is tonight the finale?

Yes sir. With a special guest appearance as well! Hopefully we don't have to wait long for the next season, similar to how the first three seasons of Workaholics were.

I don't think it will be too long. They postponed their upcoming tour until November to work on Season 2.

Holy moly. The season finale was amazing. Hilarious throughout. It flew by.

Ilana's allergic reaction scenes were hilarious. The makeup was really good. Also nice to have Poehler in the small doses.

Reminds me I still need to watch season 1 which is on Amazon Prime (though not Netflix).
