I haven't watched yet. I enjoy the comic styling of Thomas Lennon but also despise Matthew Perry.

I didn't hate the pilot like many here, but I sure hate this second episode.

Didn't like either episode. I didn't mind Perry on Friends, but he's the worst part of this show. His acting skills consist of looking wide eyed and shouting the punch line when he tells a joke. When I heard they were re-making The Odd Couple with Perry, I figured he'd be playing Felix. I just don't buy him as Oscar.

I didn't think the Pilot was terrible but I only watched 10 mins of the second episode and I wont be watching any more.
And I agree about Perry being miscast. Would have preferred him in the Felix role.

Gotta give Matthew Perry credit he never stops trying. I actually really liked his last cancelled show "Go On" hope he can finally get a break but no matter what else he does he will always be Chandler and the guy who was with Lizzy Caplan for 7 years man she is smokin' hot!

I thought Perry's other shows weren't half bad. This was very bad.

This is such a disappointment.
A premise that should be very hard to screw up but somehow they seem to have done it.
Jeez 2 and a Half Men lasted for 12 years.
Perry is fine to me but Lennon is awful.
Other Problems I see are that the writing is not funny.
The delivery is just bad.
Both of them seem more like they are reading their lines to each other and I don't see any chemistry.
Perry and Lennon could read their lines in separate rooms and then edit it to look
like they're together and it would still be the same.

I actually like Thomas Lennon but the series just isn't working for me and like I mentioned earlier the Felix character to me just doesn't translate well to modern times. Its a shame because from the previews I thought this looked okay but it's awful thus far.

I remember when the original premiered. I think it was Friday nights. I used to have to go in my parents room to watch it on a tiny TV because my parents thought "Odd" meant gay. They didn't understand how they could put a show on like that. Once I got them to actually see it they loved it. For the record, they didn't have a problem with gay people. We had one in the family. But back then divorce was considered a racy subject. If you wanted a single parent, they had to be widowed. If divorce was racy for prime time TV, imagine a gay theme.

The Randall/Klugman "Odd Couple" was a Friday night show. One of the boys usually had a recurring girlfriend, -to show they weren't "funny", which was one of the acceptable terms at the time.Originally Posted by JimRochester

Gave this another shot last night... painful... they stole the office gag of stabbing the exercise ball, and even that wasn't good for a laugh..

It won't surprise me at all if this is cancelled after one season. I haven't heard much positive buzz about it anywhere and the episodes I tuned into weren't great. I wonder what the ratings are like.

Having caught a couple of episodes, I liked it a bit. I don't think it's a classic sitcom comedy but let's be honest, funny sitcoms died out over a decade ago.

It's CBS's second highest rated show after Big Bang Theory. It's not getting cancelled. And for the record, I haven't watched it and don't have plans to start.Originally Posted by Mike86

I agree with you on all counts. I'll continue to watch, it's OK, but don't think it will go down in TV history.Originally Posted by PhantomStranger

That really surprises me. I would have to guess that's because it has The Big Bang Theory as its lead in.Originally Posted by madcougar

I only watch it because it's on right after Big Bang Theory. I thought the 3rd and 4th episodes were funnier than the first and second. Still, it's standard sitcom fare. I wouldn't record it if I was out or there was something better on, but I like Thomas Lennon's Felix. He is over-the-top, but after watching Tony Randall on some of the old ones on MeTV recently, I think it's a pretty good approximation.

No love for Regis and Weird Al? I was expecting Weird Al to bend into a pretzel.

I haven't watched since the first two or three eps.
Just watched the last two and in both eps Felix was a complete jerk towards the woman who has a crush on him. So in both shows he insults her, ignores her than apologized to her.
Is this the premise of the show now? Seems exactly like Big Bang Theory with Jim Parsons character who's name I'm blanking on.
BTW the woman is really cute, have seen her before but can't remember where.

This show definitely has its moments. I want to like this show but it just isn't that good. My complaint is the same as 2 Broke Girls. The delivery seems so forced. No natural flow to the conversation. Like a radio DJ barking out every line. Originally Posted by mnementh

Although I think Modern Family has dropped in terms of quality, the delivery is still superb. It seems natural.

Two new episodes a week? I guess CBS is burning off the series.
