Enjoying this show, but I'm concerned they're going to write themselves into corners. We've now seen that the cops have technology to change their faces (a couple weeks ago) and now to hologram anywhere. Why would they not use that tech every week?

I'm liking the show too but hope we get some sort of overreaching story-arc instead of just these 'crime of the week' shows we've been getting.

Neat tech in this one. The hologram stuff was cool, especially the jury scene. Very tense and interesting,
I'm loving this show.
Isn't there already? The stuff with his girlfriend?

Ratings were up. Thank goodness. I just want Fox to order 3-5 more episodes to help pad out the season more.

I dislike most procedural shows, but the futuristic aspect of this show is what makes this show different. I liked the clone storyline and the comedic lines with Kennex and Dorian.

Nice to see Fox hasn't learned their lesson. It seem they have been showing the episodes out of order and apparently episodes 2 and 4 haven't even aired yet.

The chemistry between Dorian and Kennex is the best thing about the show and that's not a bad thing. The whole ken-doll conversation was just hilarious. It's always nice to see Kavan Smith on TV - he was the second Stargate: Atlantis alum on TV this week.

Yeah there is a real strong love affair forming between Dorian and Kennex. The conversation about Dorian's manhood and how excited Kennex got at seeing it proves the attraction.
I'm thinking Dorian will move in with Kennex under the pretext of getting away from the ken doll androids. One thing will lead to another and the two will end up in bed. The sexy detective lady will create a love triangle. Hearts will be broken, guns will be fired, and love will bloom.

Dorian going all 6 Million Dollar Man and tossing the van with the clones was fricking hilarious. And then to top it off, the van blows up.
Loved the Ken doll comment and then Dorian showing Kennex has junk.
The case of the week was cool. But, the banter between Dorian and Kennex kills me.
Minka Kelly.

Yep, great bromance.
The episode was good too.
Minka is hot but she can't really act. I hope she stays a minor character.

http://sciencefiction.com/2013/12/13...-cancellation/
Over ten years ago, in a incident that has famously gone done in Geek History as one of the greatest travesties to the science fiction genre, Fox aired ‘Firefly‘ out of order and then cancelled the show. While a lot of factors went into that cancellation, it’s widely agreed that the jumbling of the order was a large part in its demise.
Well, it seems they are at it again, but this time the science fiction show that is getting shuffled (at least for the first seven episodes) is ‘Almost Human’, which stars Karl Urban (‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘Star Trek’).
For those of you have been tuning in dutifully every week, you may have noticed some continuity issues, namely with how the relationships are progressing. One episode, Dorian and Kennex are cold and distant, and the next they are almost BFFs. Well if you’re wondering why that is the case, it’s because the second episode is actually the fifth.
◾1.01 Pilot (Actual episode: #1.01)
◾1.02 “Skin”- (Actual episode: #1.05)
◾1.03 “Are You Receiving” – (Actual episode: #1.06)
◾1.04 “The Bends” – (Actual episode: #1.07)
◾1.05 “Blood Brothers” – (Actual episode: #1.08)
◾1.06 “Arrhythmia” – (Actual episode: #1.03)
Where are the fourth and the second episode? Who knows.
On Twitter, showrunner, JH Wyman addressed this by saying: “It’s okay that they are out of order for the first 7 or so– then, they really should be in order”.
While ‘Almost Human’ is largely serialized, and the switched episodes are essentially standalones (a great deal of procedural cop shows actually do have their episode orders rearranged), there still exists an overarching episode plot line that seems not to matter. What seems especially strange about the episode rearrangement is that the entire story of the show in the trailers was hinged on the uneasy relationship between Kennex and the android, Dorian.
One wonders if Fox is at it again, and is making sure that ‘Almost Human’ goes off the air before its time, much like the beloved, ‘Firefly’ all those years ago.

Fox is trying to front-load what their execs think are the best episodes. They were probably correct in airing Skin as the second episode, I thought it was the best episode of the series so far.
I thought Minka Kelly would have had a bigger role than what we've seen to date. Her character really hasn't had a huge amount of lines for supposedly the third lead role.
