2013 saw some of the strongest new shows that we have seen in quite sometime. What was your favorite new show..top 5...top 10?

I cast my only vote for The Americans because it's the only one I have seen, even though I lost interest and stopped watching after 5 or 6 episodes.

Definitely have to check Sundance all three of the new shows have been on some of those top shows of the year list. Didn't know Sundance was getting into original programming

Pleasantly surprised by the blacklist. I am also watching the returned which is also pretty good.

From the list, probably between The Blacklist and Hannibal. I voted Hannibal because I've seen every episode and overall the entire season was good enough to be considered one of the best of 2013.

The problem with your list is that at least 6 of those shows have completed airing their seasons.

The Blacklist for example has only aired 10 of it's 22 scheduled episodes.

Almost Human has only aired 4 episodes.

Orange Is The New Black is the strongest and most entertaining off all these new shows I've seen (admittedly, not all of them).

This year I chose to check out Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D, the Crazy Ones, Ironside & Michael J Fox Show.



I chose poorly.

Well, SHIELD is getting better, but you sure did.


Unless you absolutely have no time, it's not too late to get into The Blacklist. 10 episodes have aired and it's on holiday hiatus right now until mid January. It was already renewed for a 2nd season.

It's an action procedural with some serialized storylines. It's well liked here among the people who are regulars.

I almost want to add Agents Of S.H.E.I.L.D. To that list, but though I am continuing to watch it, it hasn't lived up to the other shows, or it's potential. Yet.

Yeah, it does skew it towards shows that started in winter 2013

Masters of Sex

Sheen and Caplan are fantastic

Tough call between Masters of Sex and The Americans.

Haven't gotten to Orange is the New Black yet.

Only new show I'm watching is Agents of SHIELD.

Looking forward to Chicago PD.

A lot of very good shows on that list, but Masters of Sex is the correct answer, and it's not even close. One of the best seasons of tv I've ever seen.

The Americans would be 2nd....

I'm going to say House of Cards. I really like Orange is the New Black, but House of Cards hits me where I live in terms of what entertains me.

WTF.

Why isn't Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D on the list???

Easily the best new show, not even debatable.

Someday it might replace The Big Bang Theory as my fave show, but that day is not yet today.


MARVELS AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D /END THREAD LOCK IT UP

I didn't know Armond White was a tv watcher, let alone posted here. Duly noted.

I have enough Amazon credit to catch the first 3. Looks like 6-10 are on nbc.com. I'll give it a shot.

Mondays @ 10 is a good slot too. No worries of basketball overlaps.

The Pilot is on NBC.com right now for free. Then you can use your credit for the next few. 6-10 should be there for a little bit because of the hiatus.

Episode 9 is probably one of the best episodes of TV this season. It's like a mini feature film. 24-level action and suspense. I am pretty sure you'll like it.

James Spader is awesome. Be patient with Megan Boone who is the other lead. She gets better as the weeks go by.

I think house of cards premiered in 2011 or 12

House of Cards with Kevin Spacey, not the British series.

It premiered in February on Netflix. It was a new 2013 adaptation of the British series.

House of Cards UK is from 1990. House of Cards US is from 2013 (debut: Feb 1, 2013)

Orange is the New Black gets my vote.

I'm kind of surprised that you're the one who contributes the most to the ratings thread, yet you really don't really watch anything on broadcast or cable that's new at all. At least on a regular weekly basis during the actual season.
