I know the article in the first post is 6 years old now, but Genisys is 4 years old. Was that supposed to be the first of a rebooted trilogy? Or was the plot of the trilogy dumped for the Genisys plot?

Looks like Genisys was the first one of that new trilogy and looks like they were also going to tie it in with a new Terminator television show at that time.

Well the last 2 movies were a good start- the new movie flopped.
