Spike is switching over to become the Paramount Network in 2018. I highly doubt their new regime will want to keep Spike/MTV leftovers. They’re going to want to develop their own programs like Kevin Costner’s new show. This show was essentially dumped by MTV after all the episodes were shot since MTV for the most part has bailed on producing scripted shows.

Hell, they canceled The Mist from this past summer that was also a Spike leftover that was developed by the previous regime.

Yeah, this is one of those cable shows that basically had a guaranteed two seasons before production started. Which is why it survived getting dumped by MTV. It's not coming back unless another channel wants it. It's actually a fit for the CW network, though I don't think they would want it.

EW has confirmed that Sonar Entertainment, the studio behind The Shannara Chronicles, has begun shopping the series to potential other networks, including streaming outlets that may want to capitalize on the series’ epic scope.

Had they kept it serious in tone and closer to the books it might have lasted longer.

Season 2 was pretty much unwatchable. I bailed after forcing myself to watch a couple episodes. The tone was definitely all wrong and the actor playing Wil Ohmsford simply doesn't have the acting chops. What a waste.

Good to know...will just walk away from the show even if it gets picked up by someone else, at least season 1 was pleasant to watch.

I was looking for an excuse to free up some tv watching time by deleting this show...will spend the time I would have watching S2 watching The Handmaid's Tale instead.
