Even though I've mostly grown tired of procedurals I'm liking this. It's off to a better start than Fringe had and we know how that show turned out. Hopefully the ratings hold up well enough for it to last.

I just wish they had the budget to really flesh out the world. I mean, I understand why they couldn't do otherwise, but every office in the building was obviously filled with 2013 computer technology. Small flatscreen monitors, etc. That's when you notice the show has a television budget and can't really immerse itself in 2048.

I hope they start developing more of the mythology soon as I'd like something to carry me from episode to episode. Right now I feel like I could miss one and I wouldn't miss anything from the overall story.
Yeah, it's kind of a mixed bag. Some doors have futuristic locks, some have today's locks. The cars are all futuristic, but they still use today's stoplights.
I also think it's easy to write themselves into a corner. For instance, if they have a tech that can change people's faces so you can't tell who they are, why wouldn't the police use that all the time when infiltrating the bad guys? As a cop, I wouldn't ever want to go into a place with my real face again.

I think they are doing a tremendous job of making the world seem futuristic on a TV budget. I'm constantly amazed at what they can pull off.

Loved him in Star Trek and RED.
He's the reason that I gave Almost Human a try.

One could argue that the tech in 2048 will be a mixed bag of old and new... like it is today. Not every traffic light or computer monitor needs to upgraded. Companies and local governments could have budget constraints and decide to take the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach. Floating, transparent computer monitors of the future are cool, but they'll probably always cost more than flat screen monitors.

Don't forget he made Judge Dredd cool again. He's awesome.
