I know there are many people drooling over the tank ... it is useless if the Governor wants the prison as a safe haven for his people. What are they going to do with it? Run over the gates and blow up the buildings? That defeats the purpose.

As far as the zombie apocalypse goes, a tank would be great for safe transportation. Beyond that it doesn't have much use.

I wonder if it is going to be a stealth tank. Where it will suddenly appear without a sound and startle everyone in the prison... much like the ninja zombies who for some reason stand completely still and silent only to lunge out at a split second.

I don't think the prison issue is one of a safe haven, but of revenge ... The Gov wants to get Michonne, he wants to get Rick ... what better way than to destroy them once and for all ..

If he is in charge - there will always be another Woodbury. he can make it that way. Destroy the prison - destroy those that crossed him.

I can't imagine how they're going to make this work, but for some reason I'm imagining that he's going to want to join the groups together. Like he sees Rick as a strong leader and he just wants his new family to be safe there.

I agree. That's the one glaring plot point in using the tank, especially the way this story arc has been panning out so far.

Nah, everything he's said and done up to this point (since his reintroduction in the last two episodes) has been about keeping his new family safe. The whole point in confronting the group at the prison is to take it from them, so his new group can use it's benefits of safety, themselves. However, if you are going to roll a tank over the fences, and blow holes in the walls, this kind of defeats the purpose. Does it not?

Before, in last season, it was about wiping the other group of competition out. He didn't need the prison, he had Woodbury. Now, however, the prison represents something else entirely.

I think he may have gone there originally, as others have speculated, with the idea of asking Rick to take his new family in. I will give you that his seeing Michone likely changed this, though. Her, he definetely holds a grudge against. Rick, he at least, grudgingly, respects.

Now granted, in the comics it went down more the way you are suggesting, but we've already seen that the show does not follow the comics story line verbatim. Sometimes, they will just throw in random bits and pieces as a bone to the comics readers. The tank, could just be one of these. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all turns out.

Those are just the shooting locations so they aren't really useful for figuring out how far the characters on the show have traveled around. For example, the location used for shooting the CDC scenes in the show is actually a performing arts center, while the real location of the CDC is over 10 miles away southeast from there (if you zoom in a little on the Google Map, it's near where it says "Mason Mill Park").

True, but the "I want the prison" story is what he's trying to use to convince his followers.

Kirkman describes The Walking Dead as "the zombie movie that never ends," but I think that having an endpoint is important in storytelling. Because the show itself has to be renewed on a season-by-season basis, they can't plot far ahead, and because of the focus on a small group of characters, you lose the wider scope, I'm kind of surprised that with the exception of The Governor and a few stray here and there, Rick and co. haven't encountered more people. You're right that there would probably be more going, possibly even the remaining government, plus the question of the rest of the world.

If you can get me a job, sure. Make me a critic or something. Or a grip, I really don't care. Anything. I have to find something new to do with my life before I go nuts.

Sorry for the bump, but I'm behind on these due to the holidays. Can somebody explain the zombies in the quicksand and why it forced "Brian" and company to return to the camp. Either that wasn't explained well or I missed something. :hscratch:

I'd assume the road was completely covered and he figured he couldn't get through the thick mud without getting stuck.
