Synopsis:
THE FUTURISTIC THRILL-RIDE CONTINUES IN NIGHT TWO OF THE SERIES PREMIERE OF "ALMOST HUMAN" MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18 ON FOX
In night two of the series premiere, Detective John Kennex (Karl Urban) and Dorian (Michael Ealy) are dispatched to investigate a murder and high-profile missing persons case that lead them into the highly profitable world of IRCs - Intimate Robot Companions - also known as sexbots. Meanwhile, Kennex looks to reconcile a part of his troubled past in the all-new "Skin" series premiere, night two, episode of ALMOST HUMAN airing Monday, Nov. 18 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HU-105) (TV-14 L, V)

I just watched the second episode. It was a procedural type episode, but I liked the plot of the episode with the sexbots. I liked the small comedic moments like Kennex stabbing his synthetic leg in front of those kids.

I liked it, but not as much as the pilot. It had some cool special effects and funny spots (the stabbing of the leg and John exclaiming "you scanned my balls?").

I'm enjoying it. I enjoy it's subtle moments while not over-doing it.
Hope it sticks around for a full season.

Yeah it was good, not great. Pretty much a self contained plot, but I really liked the interplay between Dorian and Kennex. The comedic moments and the Special FX were again good. I agree the show does have a Blade Runner on a TV budget type feel.
Dorian: I did a full body scan and your testicles appear to be at full capacity.
Kennex: You scanned my balls?
I really like the techno score. I think it adds a lot to the action sequences. Like the shootout when the Police were trying to find the missing mother.

Felt like this episode had all the lines from the endless commercials.
It only took 2 episodes to get to sexbots.
No Minka Kelly bots.

As I mentioned in the other thread I enjoyed this too.
Good chemistry between the two leads. Interesting story.
My main fear, of course, is that this can be an expensive show, because of all the special effects. So yeah, Fringe again.

Sleepy Hollow and The Blacklist, which also air Monday night, have gotten between 15-25M+ viewers with DVR numbers factored in.

Advertisers don't pay for DVR. Regardless, the drop is not good. The show is expensive with the special effects and the slower production, I don't think this show will make it. It should touch the 1s demos for next week.

Really liked this episode. The leads have good chemistry. I liked how the captain picked up how the bot was sad.

Enjoyed this episode a lot more than the pilot. I felt the characters were (no pun) fleshed out more.
Thought the interaction between John and Dorian was a highlight as well. The balls comment was hilarious.

Same here. More humor, better chemistry and tighter dialogue. I was wondering what all the hubbub was about after the pilot, but the second ep showed real promise.

Speaking of subtle references. We just finished watching Skin, and I noticed that the sexbot guy killed sat the beginning of the show was named Sebastian. Another Blade Runner shout out.
