Yeah, that was spot on.

The Quagmire flight through all the billboards was good too.

Lackluster. And I didn't have a new Venture Bros. to lift my spirits.

GuruTwo 09-18-06 12:49 AM

Kind of a weak one.
A weak "Family Guy"? Surely you jest.

In all seriousness though, I'd be curious to see what someone who likes this crap would consider "weak".

Chew 09-18-06 06:47 AM

Didn't get a single laugh out of me.

I did, however, think they would go with a shot at South Park with that "I learned something today" line near the end.

We get it. You don't like this show which is fine. Now do us a favour and stay the hell out of the Family Guy threads and stops threadcrapping. You have been long enough in this forum to know better.

Back to the subject, weak episode however, I liked the McCarver gag and Quagmire airplane bit especially the one with Greta Van Buren.

I liked Mannequin! ;)

Charlie Goose 09-18-06 08:25 AM

I didn't catch the credits, was that really Gore Vidal or just an impersonation?

Funniest bit was at the air show, with the crowd all excited when it looked like a plane would crash, then collectively saying, "Awwww!" when it didn't. Then clapping when the pilot was stabbed.

boogieman03 09-18-06 08:27 AM

Spot on with regards to radio station personalities and how it takes 2 full minutes of intro music and wacky noise.

I liked when the waiter brought Peter's food over to his table and asked who had the prime rib?, and Peter reply's in a snooty tone "I hardly think that is any of your business"

GuruTwo, if you aren't interested in the show, then please don't post in the thread. Your comments here are considered threadcrapping, which is against forum rules. Repeated occurances of this type of posting may result in administrative action against your account.

I only caught some of the episode bc I was also watching the premiere of AR10, but I must agree that this wasn't the best one yet. There were a couple of funny moments though.
On a side note, a friend of mine told me that they are coming out with a video game for the show. I haven't had a chance to see it though, but it should be hysterical!

Big Boy Laroux 09-18-06 09:27 AM

a little weak, but still got a few laughs.

but i think they hit the ultimate of all "manatee" jokes with the "vader as a meter maid" thing. WTF?

Morf 09-18-06 10:35 AM

I :scratch2: at the "selling out" Butterfinger jab at The Simpsons. Like I've never seen Family Guy on a t-shirt or pillowcase.

I thought that was a nod to the Todd Vader Day Shift Manager.

He was listed in the credits.

i guess i don't know that, cause that was the most random thing i've ever seen on FG.

How long has Chad been around because that seems awfully topical for FG? I just thought they had a longer development time that might make this a coincidence.

I thought this episode was actually pretty funny. I really liked the radio gags (especially when, after playing wacky radio gags the whole episode, it switches to a powerful Denzel Washington speech from Philadelphia). I can't believe no one has mentioned the Peanuts Reunion bit yet, where everyone has stayed the same except for Charlie Brown who is now all decked out with piercings and tattoos and a hooker for a girlfriend. I really liked the random bits in this episode.

Was Meg in this episode at all? I'm pretty sure she was in the beginning at the airfield, but I don't think she ever said anything during the whole episode.

Jadow 09-18-06 06:29 PM

The Denzel Philadelphia speech had me laughing, the rest was kinda bleh.

wz42 09-19-06 08:23 AM

I don't know. I've heard alot of people slam this ep but I actually found it pretty funny.

However it could be because I've done some stuff in radio so I was enjoying it on that level.

I sooo didn't get that Tim McCarver bit...but then again I never watch sports.

You know I was thinking the same thing! I think Chris did all the talking at the beginning at the airfield. Then again, Mila Kunis doesn't usually have lines unless it is a Meg storyline. Seth Green on the other hand seems to jump in to do as few as 5 line readings in some installments.

Okay episode - last week's was much funnier which could account for this one seeming weaker that it really was...

Big Boy Laroux 09-19-06 10:07 AM

McCarver is probably the worst baseball announcer out there today. he never makes sense when he talks, and his use of grammar is HORRIBLE.

That's why that was funny.

Michael Ballack 09-19-06 10:15 AM

I chuckled at the Kramer vs Kramer reference.
