Stewie's "again?" when Brian said he was moving out was the only thing I laughed at

I liked Lois's reasoning of why the Fred Savage stuff should be disregarded

At first thought, liberals and conservatives being good friends sounds about as likely as a KKK member being friends with a member of the Black Panthers. Can you really be friends with someone whose views you don't respect?

Then I always think of how politians buddy up to each other, (at dinners and other gatherings), even after making the most horrible statements about each other and I realize that it's all just a scam by the rich and elite in this country to keep control over the ignorant masses. Great system and we all buy it.

Well - at least for now looks like the people killed in the season opener are staying dead.

The song was boring, and there were a few chuckles - but just ho-hum

Why can't you be in a good mood? How hard is it to decide to be in a good mood and be in a good mood once in a while?"

Actually Rush is a gazillionaire and he got paid union scale which is a few hundred bucks. He said that Seth called him and they got along well on the phone. Seth was a nice guy and Rush liked the idea of the liberal dog going over to the other side then complaining about Rush being a wuss

I don't know, I don't listen to Rush (the man or the band) I just posted what I was told.

This is absurd to me. I don't classify my friends or put them in labelled boxes. Some of my best friends who I've known for most of my life have completely different political views from me. I might not agree with their beliefs, but I absolutely respect them. That is an extremely narrow minded "first-thought" you have and I wouldn't want to view the people in my life that way.

It's sad that people think they can't have common ground with people they don't agree with politically. One of my very best friends is as far removed from me politically as someone could.

I do agree that things like the White House Corespondents' Dinner give the impression it's all just a big joke to these people.

As for the Family Guy episode, I can't say I enjoyed it due to my visceral disdain for rush limbaugh.

And how do you think Rush got to be a gazillionaire while you and I aren't?

@Sessa117--Or is that Steve Martin in the 70's stand-up era?

Just watched it. The season opener was so incredibly bad that I had low expectations. I laughed several times. The damn fart joke had me rolling, especially when Rush moved seats. It wasn't great, but for Family Guy of late, I certainly enjoyed it. Rush is obviously a good sport about these things.

The point is, how would two people on the opposite side of certain issues ever become friends? I"m not talking about issues of favorite music, or favorite food. I'm talking about issues of life and death. For example, how could a gay man ever be friends with another man who believed he was evil, going to burn in hell and actively sought to take away his rights? Can they just put all of that aside and have a beer? No. Call me narrow-minded, but you know I'm right. BTW, you can paint 99.999999% of the population with that broad brush.

Re: Family Guy -- "Excellence in Broadcasting" -- 10-3-2010

I though it was a great episode, a nice return to form after last week's 'story' episode. The Rush/Brian stuff was fun and it was nice to see the show taking shots at both sides. The jokes were hit or miss like always but I laughed out loud several times, for newer Family Guy this was really solid.

Oh yeah and I loved the Office parody

I love that movie. Your quote is a little off though.

That fart joke was great! "i'm going to sit over here!"

I also liked when they met George W Bush and he came running over and Rush picked him up like a little kid and gave him a lollipop.

Who was the "cute" kid Peter referred to who came out looking awful?

I had no idea who that kid was. I assumed he was some obscure '80's child actor. He looks fine on imdb, I don't know what Family Guy was getting at.

I thought the episode was a typical family Guy episode; not bad, but not really that great. Didn't they do a story like this already?

Re: Family Guy -- "Welcome Back Carter" -- 10/10/10

According to IMDB he also voiced a character on Family Guy a few years back...wonder if he pissed off Seth or something.

With the exception of the French sirens sounding like a gay threesome, I don't think I laughed once.

mother fucking shit. DirecTV did it to me again. Somehow this was scheduled to record, but ended up recording an hour or so early. Had all the right guide data, but not the right time. Happened on American Dad, too.
