Modern Family - "A Fair to Remember" - 11/13/13
"A Fair to Remember" - The family attends the annual school fair and Phil has a big 20th wedding anniversary surprise planned for Claire at the fairgrounds, but unfortunately, she simultaneously has a surprise for him back at home. Gloria signs Jay up to be a fair cop for the day and it gets worse when he's partnered up with his nemesis. Elsewhere, Mitch, Cam and Lily try to enjoy the fair but Cam is in a funk from the football team's recent losing streak, and Haley has an awkward first encounter with Andy (guest star Adam DeVine), on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

I really enjoyed this episode. However, the only unfunny storyline happened to have the best visuals.

I still love this show. Even when there is a week that I don't find much funny in the episode, there's one like this week to follow it up. I thought there were a lot of funny under-the-breath kind of lines. And as goofy as Jay's cop buddy story line ending was, I still thought it was pretty damn funny.

This episode was better than recent ones but Cam was a real low point in this one. As corny as the cop scenario was, it was funny.

I had a laugh when the "cop" got "shot" and the whole cliche'd cop movie scene played out.

Yeah I liked this one. The biggest weakness for the episode was Manny. How many more times are the writers going to go down the "Manny does something un-manly and Jay, Gloria, or Jay and Gloria disapprove" road.

The Jay and the Black guy cop duo thing was pretty funny (particularly the sax playing after the 'shooting').

Basically, you either think this stuff is funny, or you should go watch something else because this is what you're going to get. Although, it does look like he's joined the football team. Maybe he'll man up (pardon the pun) and start banging cheerleaders.

I know this forum is down on this show, but I still think it's really good. The first few seasons were the best, but they usually are with comedy shows like this. I think they've done a great job keeping the show interesting without changing anything fundamental about it, which most shows would have done by now, usually to their detriment.
