Arrow -- "Crucible" -- 10/30/13

Synopsis:

"Crucible" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

OLIVER MEETS THE CANARY - Oliver (Stephen Amell) discovers a man who goes by the name "The Mayor" (guest star Cle Bennett) is bringing illegal guns in to The Glades, so Oliver sponsors a "Cash for Guns" event to help clean up the city. Unfortunately, The Mayor crashes the event with his gang and seriously injures Sin (guest star Bex Taylor-Klaus). The Canary (Caity Lotz) is furious when she learns her friend is in the hospital and sets out for revenge. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) stuns Oliver with a bit of information about the Canary, Donner (guest star Dylan Bruce) asks Laurel (Katie Cassidy) to dinner, and Diggle (David Ramsey) reconnects with an old friend. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Andrew Kreisberg & Wendy Mericle (#204).

Episode 4 of 23

If any of you are on Facebook, you should follow Stephen Amell. He's really into it and is really interactive with fans. Plus, he gives a lot of behind the scenes tidbits on the episodes.

Not familiar with Arrow's Rogues Gallery so who was Blood pretending to be? At first I thought maybe Scarecrow but didnt expect him to show up on Arrow.

Show needed more Felicity.

Another awesome episode. This show could have easily rested on its laurels after a solid first season. The staff actually went back and refined it even more. It's now better than anything Smallville ever did by a huge margin.

Smallvile yuck. I got these stupid smallviille discs and can't pickup the energy to finish the series. I think I have 8 episodes to go. The last few episodes I watched were so bad. Smallville has turned into my kyriptonite.

Re: Arrow -- "Crucible" -- 10/30/13

Is this because of the World Series or should we be concerned?

On The CW, Arrow dropped a big 22% from last week to a new low of 0.7 (2.34m) at 8pm.

I wish they would drop Albercrombie and the carpet muncher died in the hospital.

Did anyone catch the TV report about protests at the construction site of the Starr Labs particle accelerator? Flash, anyone?

Nope. Hmmm I don't know all things flash but I don't think his origin had anything to do with a particle accelerator. However, they do change things like every day.

Because a lighting bolt origin totally makes sense in this world

I don't think The Flash can exist at all in this world. Not with the real world take on things.

His origins was from a lab accident involving chemicals and a lightning bolt

Spoiler:
He's coming to the Arrow universe. At least two episodes with a spin off series next year. It looks to be deviation from the "real world" foundation of Arrow. If they bring in magic, I'm out and I never drop shows.

That means absolutely nothing. Ratings fluctuate all the time throughout the season. Arrow has already positioned itself as The CW's new flagship show.

Anyways, awesome episode. The reveal about Sarah being the Black Canary was cool and that reveal at the end of Blood being Scarecrow was awesome.

Really talented group of people who work on this show.

If you're a comic Super Hero fan and haven't watched Arrow, you are missing out.

I don't think Brother Blood was Scarecrow. I think he was just wearing a scary mask that screamed Scarecrow.

It was cool seeing Cle Bennett on this as the Mayor. He was a regular on Flashpoint for 2 seasons.

Looks like Baron is right. Sebastian Blood isn't Scarecrow.

There was also a mention of Central City, and a throwaway line by Laurel's mom ("I'll get there in a flash.") in season one, so no doubt the particle accelerator was yet another nod to Flash.

Loving the Easter Eggs on this show...the Ted Kord mention near the end of the first season was awesome.

Anyway, after two weeks and 25 episodes, I'm finally caught up. A big thank you to the few of you who kept mentioning Arrow in other threads...it's quickly become my favorite show currently airing (at least until Nikita returns).

Wondering if Sin's "bullet" line was a nod to her role in The Killing. (She was fantastic in that.)

Re: Arrow -- "Crucible" -- 10/30/13

Even if Arrow drops isn't it still by far the highest rated show on the network? I don't think it's going anywhere.

Ratings were adjusted up. So stop overreacting about drops. If you follow ratings at all, you should know they go up and down like a Earthquake Richter scale during the season. Certain days people choose to DVR the show over watching it live.

Wow some huge developments! Looks like Laurel's mom was right last year. I think Sarah was even wearing the same hat at the hospital. Was she same actress, or did they refilm the crash scene from S1E1?

I knew something was off about Blood.

Not sure I care for Laurel's drinking and drugs plot.

New actress playing Sarah. Other actress is on The Bold and the Beautiful or had been recently if not currently.

Thea should stage an intervention. She was hooked on "mercantile", or whatever they were selling in the glades, for awhile and is now a respectable club owner and proud third wheel girlfriend to a Parkour enthusiast.

I think Laurel saw herself in that red Parisian Night Suit and is suffering PTNSD

Thea will probably get more involved with the storyline when Roy becomes Speedy/Junky.
