Fun episode. Liked the addition of a 'superhero' story. I'm OK with them doing this from time to time.
Wouldn't mind seeing more half naked Skye either :hump:

Still want a little more Simmons even if i have to put up with Fitz.

The only problem with this is the fire guy clothes didn't burn up. I wanted to see a naked man on fire.

My favorite episode so far. It's starting to get better.

I DVR'd up to this point. Last night my cable box wouldn't let me change channels or lose recordings so I watched this. Obviously 4 episodes in and I was a little confused as to who was who. Not bad but not great. I'll have to catch up to give it a real chance.

Good episode with a nice mix of stuff.

As I suspected, the show is starting to find it's footing. The writers & producers needed a little time to get the tone right and to find the characters, from there plotting gets a little easier.

Last night's episode may have been the best yet. That's not saying a whole lot, but after the pilot the rest of the episodes have been pretty good.

The show has a ton of potential.

Skye in bra and panties. -other- That's really all there is to know in this episode.
Oh, and some stuff happens with a pyrokinetic.

Hmm. I guess there's no reason to watch this show then. I can find the pertinent footage online.

Actually the show was pretty good. I was surprised that at 8pm on ABC they'd show someone immolated like that. Those were a few gruesome deaths right there.

Not a bad episode. It was nice linking back with Centipede and Extremis, the effects of burning up the scientist were pretty cool to see on network TV, and I liked that we got to what Skye is looking for. Plus bra and panties.

Once again, I loved the show.

Much more drama than the previous shows.

Has Skye been the center of most of the shows? The actress has been showing some good emotional range.

The special effect budget for this show had to be the largest so far, even the "Flying Bus" looked tons better and then fire scene looked really good...I was surprised.

I hope the series last for 7 years and in the last scene of the series finale we find out that the entire thing was in Coulson's mind during the seconds between Loki stabbing him and him actually dying.

The problem I have with them saying he was stabbed in the heart, is almost immediately after Loki would have pulled out the spear, Coulson would have dieded. Not talk and then pull the trigger of a super cool weapon.

I really, really liked last week's episode. This one, not so much.

It was better than the first 3, but still kind of mediocre all about. These characters are just so one-dimensional and dismally uninteresting. The story was serviceable at best. I'm a little disappointed by the quality. Was hoping for more of an upswing.

The elevator death scene... that was pretty cool though. But they really need to overhaul this cast.

I wonder how many women wake up after sex still wearing their underwear?

Maybe he's really an android and will turn out to be the Vision. Or he's a clone or something. They need something to dangle to keep people hanging on until the end of the season.

Lots of movies and TV shows are guilty of this, but I don't see it here. She was pulling up her bra strap when they first went to the scene. They had obviously already finished, and she was getting dressed.

Since they put him in a special tracksuit, one could assume that because they knew about the extremis turning them into ticking time bombs, it was fire retardant?

Aside from Skye, this is a very patchy show. It is getting better, this week improved merely by giving FitzSimmons very little screen time. I never realized how annoying they were until I noticed they didn't have much to do in this episode.

They stole the Human Torch's uniform and changed it enough nobody at Fox would notice.

This episode while better than what came before still had everything I hate about this show. "Why would Skye do this to us after all we've been through together. I mean we've lived on this plane for three weeks now." Really and the holier than thou attitude that Skye had with her boyfriend was just too much I mean if this episode happened later in this series it maybe wouldn't have been as bad. And I felt the acting from the guest stars was cringe worthy. That's it, I'm done with this show. Off to watch Arrow.

Don't forget the obligatory "In english please" comment! (after fitz and simmons were discussing how Skye was tracking the hacker - Coulson says to Ward "you get any of that?")

i'm liking the improvement over the last 2 episodes, though.

Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D -- "Girl in the Flower Dress" -- 10/22/13

It's not a bad show, but there are two things I don't like about it.

1) Skye. I'm sorry, but her storyline is a mess. She's obviously supposed to be the lead character, so stop trying to make the audience think she's a traitor. Not gonna happen. And wouldn't Coulson already know her past?

2) SHIELD itself. In the Avengers, SHIELD seems to have conflicting agendas and loyalties. Fury was playing his own game, and SHIED was not exactly the upright agency it seemed to be. In the new Captain America trailer, this becomes even more apparent. But I don't get that impression at all from this show. SHIELD needs to be more ambiguous, shadowy and dangerous. Sure, the bad guys don't trust 'em, but it would be more interesting if Fitz and Simmons started having doubts too.

Re: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D -- "Girl in the Flower Dress" -- 10/22/13

Yeah, making this "The Skye Show" (guest starring SHIELD) is a HUGE mistake. She's an uninteresting character, broadly sketched and badly acted by an admittedly SMOKIN' actress. Agent Prettyboy Ward is just as bad. This 90210-level bland pouty-ness.

There's no one here with a real personality, someone relatable, someone with humor or heart or grit or anything. Two soulless pin-up leads, two interchangeable and chronically annoying cliche nerd/geek types, the stoic, inscrutable (but hot) seasoned Asian chick... and Coulson.

This can be a great show (and it HAS had one standout episode of really good quality) but retool that cast!

I was hoping for that as well.

Enjoyed this one. It's getting better.

FWIW, a friend who is native Chinese told me that the dialogue spoken was fake Cantonese. The guy who plays Scorch is attempting to speak it but is butchering the words when speaking it.
