Arrow -- "Identity" -- 10/16/13

Synopsis:

"Identity" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

DC COMICS' BRONZE TIGER AND CHINA WHITE WREAK HAVOC ON THE GLADES - Oliver (Stephen Amell) finds out the medicine that is being sent to Glades Memorial is being hijacked by thieves. Without an influx of supplies, the hospital will close. Roy (Colton Haynes) attempts to stop the thieves, but he fails and is arrested by Officer Lance (Paul Blackthorne). Oliver gets into a heated battle with China White (guest star Kelly Hu) and her new partner, Ben Turner, AKA the Bronze Tiger (guest star Michael Jai White), over the supplies. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) makes plans to catch the Arrow, and Thea (Willa Holland) gives Roy an ultimatum. Nick Copus directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Beth Schwartz (#202).

They really brought it this week. And although we know he will find a way to get out, really cool cliffhanger for next week.

Also, to Felcity, Thea and the island girl this week.

Another good episode. Laurel is a bit annoying basing everything on what she thinks happen and or only for personal reasons no matter what good Oliver does.

Someone also points out how ridiculous it is trying harder to find Arrow then the people stealing medication. Their priorities are a bit mixed up.

Re: Arrow -- "Identity" -- 10/16/13

This was yet another really great episode of this show. The action continues to be staged really well. and the cliffhanger was great an unexpected especially this early in the season. Now that Arrow doesn't kill, I guess that means we are going to see more trick arrows. Least that's what I'm assuming from the appearance of the stun arrow, and whatever the hell the arrow that he shot at China White was supposed to do.

The only two complaints I had about the episode were Laurel and Bronze Tiger. Laurel mainly just because I don't really buy her storyline at all and her intense hatred for Arrow. My complaint about Bronze Tiger was just the fact that they wasted Michael Jai White. Seriously, when you have a bad ass like him do something more other than having two fight scenes with him.

So tired of how Laurel is written. Didn't she get Tommy killed by scavenging papers until a building was coming down around her? This season has been strong otherwise though.

Great episode...

But Laurel having a dozen commandos on standby at the end was dumb.

Exactly, Tommy stupidly went into that building trying to save Laurel, trying to save documents. So dumb. It's her own damn fault he's dead. He was beyond saving by the time Oliver showed up.

Re: Arrow -- "Identity" -- 10/16/13

Another great episode full of action and Felicity in a skirt that should be required in every episode going forward.

It's virtually impossible to improve this show from here. They've weeded out the uninteresting characters and refined all of the storylines to near perfection. They have to give Laurel something to do and her hatred will work for a few episodes.

So how long before we see Red Arrow in a costume?

I wonder how long they were going to wait around.

And like a lot of shows or movies Oliver really really says that for some reason. Her reasoning makes zero sense.

Re: Arrow -- "Identity" -- 10/16/13

Solid episode, but I agree they under-utilized Michael Jai White. I mean the guy is the definition of badass and they gave him so little screen time. I think it hurt making him a secondary villain to China White.

and man, that dress/skirt that Felicity wore. Holy shit! She is the definition of hot nerd.

Laurel was indeed being a bitch to Ollie/Arrow about what she thought she saw.

Too bad Diggle broke up with his girl.

Re: Arrow -- "Identity" -- 10/16/13

Finally caught up with the entire run. Started season one two weeks ago and I'm currently in the middle of last nights episode. Really have been enjoying everything so far.

I think the Laurel stuff seems forced so far. Just don't like how she thinks Oliver walked away from Tommy when it was clear that he had died in the collapse. Putting that aside, it's setting up for a good story this season.

I think I'll fit in well in these threads because, man oh man, I love me some Felicity.

Season one was awesome and so far season 2 seems to be more of the same. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Thanks! I had to get in after all the praise I was hearing last year.

Quick question: I probably didn't miss much but my DVR got cut off. The last I saw was Oliver talking to Roy. Roy said something to the effect of "let me help you" then Oliver responds "You can help me. You can help me by....". What did Oliver say at the end there?

Oliver said you can help me by being my eyes and ears in the Glades.

He then throws Roy some item (piece of an arrow) and says leave that in the alley wall and I'll know to contact you.

Thea and Roy get back together.

Oliver than visits Laurel again, but she has Police hiding and they storm the room. He's surrounded and they go to title card.

Re: Arrow -- "Identity" -- 10/16/13

Solid ep.

Glad they are shifting the storyline with Roy. I was already getting tired of the debate circle between him and Thea.

I like this new roll for Thea as well. I wish they had not made her in high school since it seems like she is so much older. Doesn't help the actress is too. Speaking of - I saw an interview with her and thought she articticated herself well. I wish there was more of her in the character, since she seems to be overacting at times.

Was also pleased to see progression of the core relationships in the group. Continually excellent that Felicity doesn't take any crap and calls things out.

Nice cliffhanger.

FEMA driver is apparently a really shitty job. You would think after one or two unsuccessful runs resulting in death to the driver the next set of drivers might want some additional security.

The show was acting like this had occurred every night for a few weeks. The Glades are like an insane version of '70s New York City.

Interesting interview with Stephen Amell about season 2.

An Oliver and Felicity hookup is definitely possible according to him.

For anyone who wants to watch Arrow, but doesn't have Netflix to watch season 1

http://cwtv.com/cw-video/arrow/arrow...c-120b6abd7ded

Here is the Year 1 recap special. It's about 41 minutes long and should help you get caught up for season 2.

Episode 1 and 2 are on The CW website for free. Don't procrastinate, because they won't stay up forever.

If only the city didn't spend all its overtime budget on having swat sitting in a dark building waiting for the hood and put some of that man power on keeping FEMA drivers from getting killed.

Still, this show fucking owns.
