The Amazing Race 23 -- "King Arthur Style" -- 10/13/13

Synopsis:

IN LISBON, PORTUGAL, ONE TEAM TAKES A HUGE RISK IN HOPES OF A BIG REWARD, ON "THE AMAZING RACE," SUNDAY, OCT. 13

"King Arthur Style" - In Lisbon, Portugal, one team takes a huge risk in the hopes of a big reward, and racers get medieval in a knightly Road Block, on THE AMAZING RACE, Sunday, Oct. 13 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Emmy Award nominee Phil Keoghan (@philkeoghan) is the host.

Episode 3 of 12

There is no CBS national NFL double header this week. However, there are a couple of regional games that could delay shit this week for you. If your market is getting Jags/Broncos or Titans/Seahawks, you may need to pad. They both start at 4:05pm ET

The express pass is the most overrated thing, Marie using it to bribe teams and hold a power over them is ridiculous.

Besides being annoying, I believe the Afghanimals will eventually be the death of my ice crew.

I know it ended up being "smart", but the express pass couple absolutely knows there are a bunch of teams in front of them and also doesn't know for certain of any teams behind them. They arrive at the detour task, and there are still teams there.

Wouldn't that be a good time to use the express pass?

Wow, a total screwing on the flights there. Probably couldn't even get an non-elim due to how far back they were.

Jason and Amy for 2nd place. Too bad they got lost on the way to the pit stop. Seems like I made a good choice on rooting for this team so far.

I love her.

Go Amy! As long as she keeps advancing, fine by me. She's gorgeous.

And the producers aren't shy about taking cleavage shots of the baseball babes.

Kim Dejesus is my new favorite thing on TV. Marie on the other hand just keeps looking dumber and dumber.

Ranking the baseball wives at the bottom of my draft list was a huge mistake...they are a great team.

Tim and Marie can stay in at as long as they want, 'cause I love Marie's hair.

Sucks for Team NFL.. usually shit like that is decided by horrible cab drivers/translation issues, but this time it was a terrible ticketing agent that fucked them the first time out and made things worse trying to fix it. I was hoping for a non-elim leg, but looks like they were going to be too far behind.

Baseball cleavage

Amy manning the desk and telling the other team that it'd be three days.

Hoping the Afghanimals will leave soon, though Tim/Reebs leaving with an express pass in their pocket would have been nearly as good.

They were pretty high on my list (my usual criteria is attractive, athletic women for Survivor, though that comes second to a good mixed team in TAR), but I admit I was a little shaken by their poor showing in the first draft. I was wondering what I was missing.

Still, I like my Jason/Amy team so far--I had been worried that they'd be as annoying as Tim/Reebs really are. Too bad they blew the lead in the final stage, though.

True, but my rule for TAR would be: don't go off on your own. It's too much of a risk. With the exception of the final leg, the goal for each leg is to not finish last, rather than win.

You know you're far behind when Phil has to meet up with the last place team to stop them.

I think that the last time that happened was on TAR 16, when Heidi and Joe got U-Turned and couldn't complete the Morse Code task. Phil ended up walking up to them in the WWI trench after the other teams checked into the pit stop.

Despite their stupidity at the map challenge, I like the Afghanimals and the Ice Wives.

Much better leg than last week's - beautiful shots of Portugal.

Poor Team NFL...had to be tough with Phil popping up Cheaters-style at the airport for their elimination.

Just watched the episode and that sucks for the NFL guys. Hate to see teams get knocked out because of someone else's incompetence. Well, at least the likeable teams.
