It's unlikely that there is misdirection going on there with the Stevia, but perhaps there is. The way they showed it going into the tea was just slightly obvious.

I don't think the waiter had brought any back yet at that point. He said he would, he talked to the table behind him and then she used the sole packet that was already there.

No that was the only one in there. I'm sure he did that knowing she always asked for more packets. That way he ensured that she took the ricin.

The ending wasn't particularly spectacular, and fairly predictable except for the Grey Matter stuff, but a fitting end to the series.

I think the ending to The Shield is better, but the degree of difficulty here was higher. It's very close for me in terms of what the best series (of this sort) ending is between the two.
