I only watched half. I started up the episode and realized i must have only watched half of last weeks when the "previously on" was mostly new to me, haha

Kinda slow for a season finale. Wondering what next season's going to be like as a consequence of this episode.

I guess they had to do something to add a wild card into the mix. The MI6 angle could go in any number of directions.

So the question becomes, how long will Sherlock's bender last this time?

I thought the season just sorta ran out of steam as it went on.

Last three episodes were good... But not as good as last year's.

But overall still worth watching. No truly awful episodes that usually occur with the typical broadcast season length.

I hope they skip the relapse...stupid reason for him doing it anyway.

Haven't watch the full season yet, but I AGREE 100%. This show was my favorite new show of 2012-3, but this year it's turned into an above average procedural. No more "Sherlock" moments like last year (my name for complicated deductions based on observation of small things). I'll keep watching because I like JLMiller and (to my surprise) Lucy Liu, but the writers need to get on the ball.

Re: Elementary -- Season Finale -- "The Grand Experiment" -- 5/15/14

Now that the season is over, I can freely admit it dragged for long stretches of episodes. The quality of writing greatly fell from a very solid to great first season. It became a pretty lazy, mindless procedural at times, which was tough to do with Miller continuing his top-notch performance as Sherlock.

If Moriarty can't be a regular presence, they need some sort of stand-in to provide a constant thorn in Sherlock's side. They used Mycroft in that role but I didn't buy very much of it.
