Re: Elementary -- "The Marchioness" -- 11/07/13

Fantastic episode. I loved Sherlock's answer to the session leader's question... that was a brilliant piece of writing acted superbly.

Rhys as Mycroft is inspired... but why Joan would be interested in him "that way" still bothers me. I loved Sherlock's inquiries into their "copulation" while driving in the car. JLM is such a great actor.

This is my favorite show on television.

I really love this show. And, yes, the answer about being born in the wrong time was fantastic.

I hope Rhys Ifans becomes a regular.

I'd prefer Mycroft become a recurring character instead of a regular castmember. I think his storyline could become quite predictable.

Weird to hear Mineral Wells being referenced in this show. Or any show.

What is Mycroft up to?

Now that the invisible poster opened the door, I think this show is far better than Sherlock.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy Sherlock, have the first two seasons on BD, and am looking forward to the third seaon. However, if asked to choose which I thought was better, I'd pick Elementary without hesitation.

I like the easygoing chemistry on this show better than Sherlock. The cases are better plotted out and written on the BBC series, but each episode for it are like mini-movies with a much less demanding production schedule.

Re: Elementary -- "Blood Is Thicker" -- 11/14/13

Love this series and am starting to warm up to LL as Watson. But there are less "Sherlock" moments this season where he deduces a whole lot of stuff from observations he makes ... That's why I love to watch Sherlock Holmes. I knew they couldn't keep it up after S1. I'm hoping this doesn't devolve into just another procedural with a guy named Sherlock Homes.

Agree that I probably like JL Miller's take on Sherlock a little better than BC (who I thought did an outstanding job). He makes this show and should have been nominated for an emmy.

I disagree. The cases are what I don't like about the BBC series. They're almost all incredibly weak. I watch that show for the banter between Holmes and Watson which is always fun.

In this show, I love the chemistry with the cast as well as the cases (though some are weaker than others).

Re: Elementary -- "Blood Is Thicker" -- 11/14/13

Sherlock Holmes worked best in short stories. I am in awe of the creativity Conan Doyle possessed in writing so many great short mysteries. It seems few modern writers have his ability to provide these set-ups unfortunately. I hope Elementary does not devolve into yet another procedural. Perhaps they should dust off the source material and start using that over new stories?

Always good to see Chris Bauer in anything.

Liked Sherlock's speech at the end about how he's incapable of being a warm person.

Re: Elementary -- "On The Line" -- 11/21/13

I love this show, but even I'm sometimes put off by how simple the solution to these cases is sometimes. They get wrapped up "behind the scenes" as it were. I think the show would have benefited from seeing this guy get away with his crime, at least for the time being.

Yes! I could not agree more. His speech at the end dropped my jaw to the floor. It was..."in your face"... real...WAW!

It was a great speech by Sherlock at the end. The one thing this show really does well is not dumb down Sherlock's character. If you pay attention his vocabulary is far more sophisticated than just about every other character on cable or broadcast television.

I was surprised that while the Chief was telling the detectives to stop complaining about Sherlock more grief wasn't headed Coventry's way considering he was wrong on all counts and should have been more contrite about it afterwards.

A fairly big plot development in the series occurs in this episode.

This was a very good episode. And I liked Holmes messing with the narration in parts.

I liked the ep quite a lot... I liked the change in the flow of the story telling.

JLM is still fantastic as Holmes!
