Re: Criminal Minds -- "The Fight" -- 04/07/10 -- Spinoff Pilot starring Forest Whitak
"Unsub" - definitely the most annoying overworked word on a TV show.
(Except perhaps for Randy Jackson's "dude") |
Re: Criminal Minds -- "The Fight" -- 04/07/10 -- Spinoff Pilot starring Forest Whitak
Can you imagine everyone on the show saying "the unknown subject" 50 times per episode?

"The unsub left traces of DNA, so we should be able to run the unsub's DNA through CODIS and identify the unsub." :brickwl2: It's insulting to the viewer's intelligence to think we're going to forget what they're talking about mid-sentence. Hell, I hate it when a show comes back from a commercial break and outlines everything that's already happened. |
Re: Criminal Minds -- "The Fight" -- 04/07/10 -- Spinoff Pilot starring Forest Whitak
Just watched this today and thought it was okay. It was a good Criminal Minds episode, nothing outstanding. However, as a launching pad for a possible spinoff, I thought it was kind of weak. This particular case could have easily been handled by Hotch's team and to me it seemed forced adding a 2nd team to the mix. Thought the supporting characters were a little weak and I don't think Whitaker is strong enough to carry a show by himself. They need to cast a 2nd relatively big name actor to work along side him.
Another concern I have is both teams are BAU. How are they going to have 2 Criminal Minds shows operate simultaneously without being redudant in certain parts and now it seems that both teams are based out of Washington DC. Agree with everyone that Whitaker looked really bad. He's lost alot of weight and good for him, but I thought he looked alot better and healthier when he was on The Shield a few years ago. BTW, I hate that Paget Brewster went back to the bangs again. I did like that this episode was actually shot on location in San Francisco. |
Re: Criminal Minds -- "The Fight" -- 04/07/10 -- Spinoff Pilot starring Forest Whitak
That English guy was terrible and I'm English! The accent seemed to go from English to Irish mid-sentence. Also the fact he was ex-SAS was funny aswell. Their team seemed to be so varied where the 1st BAU seemed to make more sense.
I jusy kept getting weird NCIS:LA vibe from it. The story was OK but Whitakker was alot better in the Sheild where his bulk added to the character. Also it was great to see another ex "Generation Kill"er getting more work. I thought he was the best in the show. In case anyone else thought that Beau Garrett looked familiar. She was in Fanastic Four 2. |

Not in the least impressed with the new team.
For an Oscar winning actor, I thought Whitaker was incredibly shitty in this. And is it just me or has his eye become more distracting? Maybe his weight loss has accentuated the defect? Don't think I'm going to watch the spin-off. |

Actually, what he has is called "ptosis" -- basically a drooping eyelid: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ptosis_%28eyelid%29 |
Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Our Darkest Hour" -- 05/26/10

Synopsis: Spoiler:
Special Guest Stars: Robert Davi Tim Curry Eric Close (Without a Trace) Haven't done alot of Criminal Minds threads this season, but it's the season finale and there are some good guest stars here. It's been a good & consistent season. I'm still not sure how I feel about the Forest Whitaker spinoff for next season. |
Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Our Darkest Hour" -- 05/26/10
^ Yeah, they really need to do some re-tooling but I wasn't too sure how NCIS: LA would turn out but the episodes I have caught have been decent enough.

Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Our Darkest Hour" -- 05/26/10
Damn, Tim Curry looked horrible in the show.

Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Our Darkest Hour" -- 05/26/10
I know there is a few of you here who watch Criminal Minds, so I thought this would be the best place to put this:
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/06/...rops-a-j-cook/ AJ Cook (JJ) is being dropped. She could return for a few episodes to wrap up the story with her character. Paget Brewster (Prentiss) is also being dropped, but only to recurring guest star. Deadline.com says she hasn't decided if she will accept the reduced episode offer. Sucks!! CBS is citing financial reasons, which IMO is horseshit considering they have the highest overall viewership of all the networks. |
Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Our Darkest Hour" -- 05/26/10
They're dropping two of the hottest women on TV?! Morons.

An update for those here who watch Criminal Minds. It's official A.J. Cook (JJ) has been dropped. She will return for 2 episodes. Paget Brewster (Prentiss) will return for 17 of 22 episodes, but unfortunately she tweeted today that this will be her final year on the show. |
Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Our Darkest Hour" -- 05/26/10
What the hell? Criminal Minds gets super high ratings, so I don't see how they need to trim some money off the budget. So they are dropping the 2 women? I can sort of see JJ, since she seems pretty worthless on the show, but Prentiss is good. So will they replace her with someone cheaper or just keep the team intact?

This is one of the more baffling decisions I have ever seen on a TV show. Prentiss is good and works well with the team. I mean seriously, does she really make tons of $$$$. I don't think so. |
Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Finale -- "Our Darkest Hour" -- 05/26/10
That's retarded. Producers messing with show chemistry by taking away characters is what kills shows.

Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Premiere -- "The Longest Night" -- 09/22/10
Is that Leonard Cohen playing during Tim Curry's character's flashback?
|
Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Premiere -- "The Longest Night" -- 09/22/10
Given they're playing Cohen now I'm going to guess yes.
|
Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Premiere -- "The Longest Night" -- 09/22/10
They did a good job of giving Curry's character some depth with this episode. Sucks about next week though, one of my favorite characters gone.

Re: Criminal Minds -- Season Premiere -- "The Longest Night" -- 09/22/10
while i'll miss seeing JJ, she really is worthless to the show. she does nothing. now Paget Brewster being forced out, sucks balls. she is good on that show.
