How can this episode be bad? It's Rafi and Dirty Randy!

Re: The League - "Rafi and Dirty Randy" - 9/25/13

Episode sucked. It wasn't even "The League" really. Probably doesn't help I can't stand Rafi unless it's in small doses. Ruxin MIA again, but considering the main cast was barely in the show.........

Show is starting to lose me.

Ehhhhhhhhhhh boring. The show really had nothing to do with why I watch the show.

What was that? This episode reeked of being a backdoor pilot for a Rafi spin-off.

I'll say it: Easily the worst episode of the series.

I'm annoyed I wasted 22 minutes watching it.

Rather watch a full season of Dads than that episode again.

I thought it was awesome, though I like those characters. The show has moved away from Fantasy Football quite a bit ago. My question is, why hasn't Ruxin been shown the last two episodes and does that mean next year we won't see Rafi?

Nick Kroll has is own sketch show on Comedy Central going into a second season. It now seems like he's dividing his time between the two. (Never seemed to stop Scheer and the 300 projects he's been involved in, but...)

I like Rafi and Randy in very small doses, but this was awful.

I heard an interview with jason mantzoukas recently. He said since the show is improv, and his character isn't really responsible for plot development, he can pretty much make up whatever he wants.

He said the first mention of the character "Dirty Randy" was complete improvisation.

So, was this their way of killing off the Rafi character?

Ew. I thought the previous episode was the weakest of the series, and it was, until this one aired.
It's like they stopped caring. Oh well. One less show to watch.

0 for 4 this season.

I kind of miss the days where episodes like the running shoes/piano one were the lowpoints of the series.

Re: The League - "Rafi and Dirty Randy" - 9/25/13

So nobody recognized Dana White as one of the guys in the intro, huh?

what a bizarre episode. like they want to do a spinoff or something. i don't get that for seth rogen, since he's pretty successful in movies.

edit: holy shit, david krumholtz got fat. like, really, really fat. wow.

so, i see what the issue is with this episode. wasn't written by the normal people. Seth Rogen and Jason Mantzoukas wrote the entire thing. It's like the producers of the show just said hey, we need an episode, here you go, take the reigns. so we can only blame the league people for letting this air, not how badly written it was.

That might have been the most bizarre 30 minutes of anything I've ever seen.

Re: The League - "Rafi and Dirty Randy" - 9/25/13

I caught up with the series on Netflix over the summer since I had never seen it before, but something feels completely off so far in comparison to the previous four seasons. Last week's episode was cringe-inducing bad, and this week's was a monstrosity.

Nick Kroll and the guy that plays Taco easily make the show for me. I caught some of Kroll's Show on CC last year and I didn't think it was very good. The humor struck me as different, although I admit I've never seen him in anything else other than The League. I'm surprised it warranted a second season.

No kidding. At first he was in a sweat suit and looked really fat, but thought maybe he was padding for the show. Then without his shirt - holy shit.

I hope he's doing this for a movie role or something - because he didn't look anything like that in small cameo in "This is the End", which isn't THAT old a movie.

Same here. On par with that bizarre episode of Eastbound & Down last year. Anyway, I thought this was hilarious.

I knew he had the show (which I heard is awful) but didn't think it would make him miss these shows. I mean, the show only has what, 10-12 episodes a year?

It was 8 episodes last year and will be a 10-episode second season. It's hard to describe, I guess it's a sketch show but it's very disjointed and not very funny which is a shame because I think he's hilarious in The League.
